OK, now I'm pissed. Lionel QC strikes again. I pick up the engine from it's cradle and the front pilot steps drop to the floor. The screws holding the assembly are stripped, and it looks like they were held in with superglue. WTH. Loctite fixed that issue. Plus the loose screws for the air compressors.

Okay, in that video I can discern the shade of green folks are upset about. Yep, think this is a miss by Mr. Muffins color wise as it sinks in. No worries, Pat will fix it. I have no regrets buying it. It's the darn Lionel QC issues that really get me.

Wow, Mr. Muffin sold to you the color locomotive that he said he would as per the pre-order art work and yet we circle back to the same old complaints. Mr. Muffin has done a lot for the hobby and his contributions with custom runs are immense and greatly appreciated. You guys are biting the hand that feeds you. But as Mr. Muffin said earlier, he has more orders for this locomotive than he has locomotives to sell.

Honestly just don't like that green. It's just appears to be too much! But to each is own. Lionel did a similar green on their DRGW Challenger. And it just looks like someone colored it with markers. And why they keep using that primer battleship grey smoke box color is beyond me.
I like Steve at Mr. Muffins and appreciate his special runs. His communication and dedication has been top notch.
Sorry for you typical LIONEL QUALITY issues.
I bought an M1 and I am picking it up this weekend, keeping my fingers crossed it does not have to go back like the Triplex.

Here are the pics, I can live with the color. Weathering is in order.
That green looks awful. No way in heck that shade of paint existed in the 1930s. The QC concerns continue and are just salt in the wound. Surprised we haven't started calling them "Lying-L". |

And this is where the rub is, …..the two cats in charge of this crap, sit with their cute little livestream videos, and proclaim how accurate their crap is gonna be, the research they do, & how they care about getting the details right!…yet as soon as the cameras are cut off, they must say to one another “ do you think we’ve pulled the wool over their eyes?” ….We raised such a stink about that Dreyfuss disaster, a whole army of folks got booted off that “other forum” …..sad part is, people who bought that turd and the matching long turd cars, actually started to believe they looked good!!…….I was flabbergasted,……the friggin stripes are black for crying out loud,……..I just wish one of those dudes ( Ryan or Dave ) would actually tell the truth,…..and when it walks like a duck, and LOOKS like a duck,…..it’s a *** **** duck!!…..😂😂😂

Last I’m going to say about this. Mr. Muffins tried to copy the Green Kline berk, the Lionel art work he sent out over a year ago looked like the Kline green, we all suggest it look like the Kline or the HO model colors this engine is patterned off of. What we got is a miss, nothing negative to Steve, we are all glad he did this special run but a miss is a miss. I’m more pissed with Lionel QC issues on this engine. If you like it great, if not you have options, Steve will take them back or have somebody repaint.

As Gary stated, none of us that have a gripe about the color blame Mr. Steve. ( I certainly don’t, and I don’t believe Gary is either ) All Mr. Steve can do is approve the art work submitted back to him as a proposal.It’s out of his control after he says go. As I’ve said, and now sounding like a broken record, there’s a step missing somehow, somewhere………Nobody’s checking paint samples!!…..they can’t be,….it’s pot luck, and hope the container from the far East has something right in it,……So for the record, please believe that. Sadly, you know who we hold responsible for yet another paint debacle, and yet even more QC failures. We are not the only ones in very recent releases to have issues with colors and or bad decorating, ….I know you know of at least a few, …..the mint chocolate chip GN switcher??…various and horrible spelling errors, it goes on & on,……
