Anyone catch the "C" Liner A unit minimum radius 031 and the "B" unit requires a 054 radius? I did not see that. If that is not a print error, it would be strange.

A GG-1athon for sure. But pity the poor 'Old Rivets' version. Barely a mention in the intro, and only a single photo all by its' lonesome in the lower left hand corner. But the PC set version was a hoot. As I recall the days when I went to DC by train the consist pulled by the PC GG-1 was just about any old coach they could find that would still roll; not these aluminum beauties.
The lack of a Halloween GG-1 is an opportunity lost for Lionel but perhaps an opportunity for some enterprising dealer(s) to pursue in bright, or burnt orange.
Now that would be a show stopper.

Whoa is this a catalog price error? 499 for a vision line b60 baggage car? Yet the REA is 299?

I think if I had to drop everything and afford a nice set it would be this one: Question are these resurrected K-LINE aluminum cars?!!!!

Many of the big dealers have already posted their pre-order pricing. So Lionel has clearly honed their dealer sales kits to help dealers "go live" with the catalog.
Nice catalog. But I just shake my head at the prices. A bit dizzying to say the least. At a certain point, you've just gotta laugh.
A little birdie told me yesterday that they plan to offer a custom Y6b, so I knew Y6b's would be featured in the catalog. Can't explain why exactly, but this steam locomotive has always called my name. Perhaps because there's a ton of detail on it, yet it doesn't have the MASSIVE footprint presence that the Big Boy has. My current Legacy Y6b hails from the last batch of Y6b's Lionel produced several years ago. And I recall paying $1,400-ish back in those days. Now it seems the street price is gonna set us back $1,660. Bidenomics at work I suppose.
The Great Northern Y6b is a "fantasy" version, but I've been drawn to those in recent years. The Train Loft is hinting at a custom Y6b that enthusiasts will like, if the shop's recent D&RGW Big Boy caught their eye. So we shall see how the dust settles. That D&RGW paint scheme on a Y6b would be very tempting... just not sure I "need" two steamers with the same paint scheme. So it might be a toss-up between the Great Northern and one of the dealer custom-runs. Time will tell.
Aside from the Y6b, only a small handful of rolling stock pieces caught my eye. GG-1's are always iconic. But I don't see myself reaching for my wallet to buy one this time around. My current Conrail bicentennial VisionLine GG-1 will suffice for now. So the 2025 budget year is getting off to a very light start THANKFULLY. I feel for you folks still in roster-building mode, because the prices today are just ridiculous.
Let the custom-runs begin...

And I wonder when Pat's Trains will announce a BLACK BONNET version of the Y6b. I am so fortunate that I have the earlier versions of these a a WAY more affordable price. However the new sets have me thinking about selling some older trains and possibly purchasing new. GG-1's? I have 4 and I am tapped out. I recall when Nick Smith was blowing out the vision line versions for 950 at York. And you could buy a JLC version for 500...

Took a look. Wow! Insane Prices! Uh, $300 for a Visionline PRR cabin car? WTF? $125 for a "regular" PRR cabin car? Uh, no. And $300 for a B60 baggage car. And the Y6B was never used in passenger service, so the red keystone number plate on the smokebox is incorrect.
Sorry. Pass - hard pass.

Having passed on the secondary market prices for supposedly NIB VL Old Rivets GG-1s the new offering is a relative bargain. But darn the GG-1 VL is begging for a Halloween version in bright or pumpkin orange with black accents/lettering. Maybe the preorders for the Halloween Triplex were disappointing?
Other than that the AEC tank car will go nicely with the set that I preordered from Nick Smith. That's about it for me.

Other than that the AEC tank car will go nicely with the set that I preordered from Nick Smith. That's about it for me. I think the Halloween Triplex will be an excellent bell-weather as to whether we'll see anymore "big ticket" Halloween offerings. METCA did a custom-run Halloween (and Christmas) A5, but those were a fraction of the price of the Triplex. Aside from some really big-ticket custom-runs like Brady's UP Big Boy and The Train Loft's D&RGW Big Boy both selling out, I'm not sure how quickly some of the other big-ticket custom-runs are selling out. Pat's Trains tells me his royal blue C&O H-7 is almost sold out, and that's in the same league as the VisionLine GG-1's.
Pieces of rolling stock are an entirely different market, and those seem to be selling well... although METCA's pricing for 6464 boxcars is a pipe-dream. I know they're just passing along their increased costs from Lionel, but there's only so much enthusiasts will absorb. I was willing to buy 6 of METCA's Christmas boxcars... that is UNTIL I SAW THE PRICE. So not only is it overpriced, they lost a sale of 6 boxcars... because I can't sell 6464 boxcars at train shows for $35... and Lionel/METCA wanna sell new offerings for $95. Sorry... that math doesn't work for me.
The prices of standard goods and services in our economy being what they are these days have gotta be making most common-sense enthusiasts think twice before lighting a fire to their wallet now. Then again, the YouTubers seem to have deep pockets these days, as they trip over themselves posting new content with the latest products they've purchased. So perhaps that's who Lionel is counting on to buy at these prices... and then "influence" their followers.

I would love to see the size of the set box for the N&W King Coal set. It has a huge Legacy Y6B steam, twelve coal cars and a caboose. For what you are getting its not a bad price at $2999

The added cost of shipping US importers balk at return of $10,000 container shipping rate finance.yahoo.com/news/us-importers-balk-return-10-110234066.htmlLOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The cost to ship a standard 40-foot container of toys, auto parts or other goods from Shanghai to New York has jumped to nearly $10,000, fueling frustration among importers and prompting some experts to say the market is in a bubble. The Drewry World Container Index's spot rate for such a shipment hit $9,387 on July 11. That is more than double the rate from February but still below the peak of $16,000 early in the pandemic when it swelled due to spree buying by homebound consumers.
