Nice buildings Brian. Menards do have some nice buildings. The Strasburg stuff is really nice. Dave That sure is adding to your building collection, Brian. Thanks guys. Menards buildings sure are a great value, very colorful and full of lighting.

Wow. I really like all of the stuff Traindiesel Brian has pictured and especially the bowling alley. But I have resisted that because of lack of space!

More summer infrastructure purchases for the PENN AMERICAN RAILROAD.
Electronics and Digital Control Department
Legacy LCS Components (Lionel) Since I have the Legacy Command Control System and no plans to buy the upcoming (someday) Base 3 system, I located the various WiFi components I wanted while they were still available. I had to search several sources to acquire what I needed. With these I should be able to operate my Legacy System to meet my objective for quite some time. I may add on if the components work well. Pictured below are the parts and components I acquired.
Legacy LCS WiFi Module (Enables control through any Wifi enabled device) Legacy LCS Power Supply with DB9 Cable (Powers the system and connects to the Legacy command base) (3) Legacy LCS Sensor Tracks (For O gauge track, as opposed to FasTrak. Sends commands and collects locomotive info) Atlas O Transition Joiners (To connect my Atlas O track to the Sensor Tracks) Legacy LCS PDI to PDI Cables, various lengths *To daisey chain the Wifi Module to Sensor Track or other components. 20' cable not pictured)
Classic Toy Trains Animated Billboard Sign (Kalmbach Media 69015) This Miller Engineering sign will light up the city and steer local train enthusiasts towards their local hobby shop or news stand to grab the latest copy!
Road And Highway Department
1958 Plymouth Fury (3) & 1947 Power Wagon (Menards 279-9207, 279-9234, 279-9209 & 279-9395) These classic beauties will jazz up the city streets and the Power wagon will look great parked next to my OGF ES44 locomotive! These colorful diecast cars are a great value. I would have bought more but I didn't want too many of the same vehicles on the layout.
Classic Toy Trains Delivery Truck (Kalmbach Media 67953) If there's an animated sign advertising the magazine, there better be a way to deliver them to various outlets. It's made of plastic but has really nice graphics on a classic box truck design.
Coming up next, motive power and rolling stock.

Wow. I really like all of the stuff Traindiesel Brian has pictured and especially the bowling alley. But I have resisted that because of lack of space! I know I won't have room on my current semi-permanent layout for all the buildings I have. I'll probably rotate out my favorites over time. But the bowling alley was an absolute must for me. I'm trying really really hard to focus away from acquiring more trains and buildings and focus more on scenery and layout construction. (really, I'm trying!) But I'm sure when I get to York next week I will be cured of that affliction!

Brian (traindiesel), nice acquisitions. Thanks for the details and background info. I like your idea of swapping out buildings on the layout - that will keep you occupied with layout modifications. Remember to pace yourself at York. Alfred

…..Remember to pace yourself at York. Alfred That’s what gets me in trouble. The more I pace myself the more I see, the more I want to buy!! If you were like me and how I pace myself it's when your broke you have to pace yourself. But in all true fullness for the size Of my layout now I have way too many cars and locomotives but does that stop me, Nah!. Dave

Bought something old recently, this Lionel 1664E in gunmetal, from Trainz, twenty-couple bucks, all in: It goes straight to the top of the project pile, along with the 1689T tender I've had for a very long time, looking for a mate. Gonna swap the guts out with a battered black 1664E that I have and, presuming the boiler casting polishes up nice, just a matter of repainting the tender.

I got two Menard's buildings as a thank you gift for putting up my sister. Hobby Store and JD Repair Hut. She had purchased the Smoking Engine Diner but couldn't find where she put it. How can you lose something that big?

This past week the O&O wrecking crew took delivery of a new crane. They have been complaining since forever about the old one because there's no cover during bad weather. ....now watch, come summer they'll start complaining about how hot it is inside the cab of the new one.

C'mon af, you're killing me. A fellow member just told me about that second one, nearly mythic in its existance...isn't that an Arcade tow-truck derrick on a Flyer crane car? Never, ever have I seen one in real life (until now). Absolutely beautiful...gotta be a pillar of the collection.
