Marx Rock Island 552: The milk cans are craft store purchases some two decades ago. I'm told Marx offered milk cans as a gondola load...no idea if these are approximate to the size and style of Marx offerings.

healey36 - you were told correctly. This should help with the milk can dimension issue. ...and as far as anything new is concerned - this little clockwork consist (Bing for the British market) rolled into the Oblivion station passenger platform complex a few days ago.

I received this in the mail yesterday. I took it out of the box this morning and so far so good. Tonight or tomorrow I’ll see how it runs. It’s a good looker in my opinion.

Thanks, af3020; looks like the craft store milk cans are a bit larger. Does your 548 have an insert in it to hold the cans in place? The military car that carried artillery shells had such a "grille" that fit inside. Just wondering...
The Bing George the Fifth set is terrific, especially the third car with the little "bay window" on the side. One wonders what type of car this is intended to be.
Joe - who made the caboose? It's unusual, at least to me.

healey36 - yes the milk car does have a cardboard insert to hold the 4 milk cars. As for the Bing car it is a combination luggage and guard van (caboose). the bulge on the side is a small bay window for the guard.

It has been a while since I have purchased any rolling stock. I could not pass up the following through a private sale from another LOTS member. (The road names were chosen to purposely span the country.) They came by mail yesterday. They are in incredible condition – all the raised details (e.g., rivets) are very crisp, and they show very little running wear. (My wife says that they look like new out of the box.) Alfred

Received the RJ Corman tanker this past week. Now I have to dig out the RJ Corman freight train. This one is from Atlas which is a first for me, my other RJ Corman loco and freight cars are either MTH or Lionel. Have a loco and few freight cars, makes up a neat freight train. Saw a RJ Corman real deal crew lifting a dozen or so coal hoppers that derailed in Columbus a few years ago. Bill
