I saw one in person who brought it over to my place to look at and ask my opinion. The color is so far off when he took it out of the box he decided to send it back. He has told me he has sent back at least 7 Locomotives due to mechanical and paint issues in the past several years. He has sworn off anything Lionel, can you blame him? Dave Did he buy these as a pre-order as sight unseen, I did it one time back in the mid 90s with MTH. My fault for not understanding how it worked. It said in the catalog it might not be exact as the photo. I didn't know it was a photo of an HO model. I never ordered another one that way. And I have one of the notorious zinc pest MTH Hiawatha's. that was made back in the late 90s I won't buy anything sight unseen. From what I know they were bought during the BTO years. This is why I will never buy as long as BTO is Lionels way of doing business. For me I have more than I'll ever use, that and age!! Dave

Yes, two threads, lots of pages, lots of drama. All of which could have been avoided by a simple statement: “I just got the B&A Berk, I don’t like the green, I am sending it back to Mr. Muffin so someone else who really wants the locomotive can have the opportunity to have one and I get my money back. Instead, I will buy one of the black B&A Berkshire from Trainworld and everyone is happy.” Keeping an expensive locomotive when you are not happy with it makes no sense. Some of us just want Lionel to make a solid product and live up to their name. Some of us actually want to buy said offerings but are sad that they missed the mark. Some of us don't give corporations a free pass when selling a luxury item. Get it right or you don't get our money. What is so hard for you to understand about that? And why does our expression of grief bother you so much?
