Even though I was shown the exit a few years ago I still visit the forum. Still a lot of good info posted there and it is cool to see other folks layouts. As far as the MTJ, a nasty forum to visit if you are a MTH supporter. Bill www.youtube.com/user/seayakbill As a whole, I think the O Gauge Hobby has moved long past the MTH vs Lionel stuff. I don't think that anyone really gives it much thought. I’d like to believe you’re right, and I do believe that a lot of O gauge hobbyists have moved on from the manufacturer wars. But there still are people that are steadfast against any manufacturer other than who they buy from. I never understood that thinking but if that’s how they enjoy the hobby they’re not wrong.

To be honest, 20 years ago I was caught up in the train wars but no more. Why deny yourself great trains in the road name you want because it comes in the wrong colored box? To my more seasoned self, it makes no sense. You put the trains on your layout, not the boxes! In 2024, with all the problems in the world, we should be glad we have three stable train companies and have fun.

Because the moderators "over there" have their head stuck so far up their rear orifice, they're beyond all hope. I would even conclude that in this case, they're violating their own TOS policy, whereby the purpose of their forum is discussing trains and model railroading. That is, after all, what the OP of that thread is doing. It's really a darn shame that any of those members feel the need to kowtow to that moderation style. It stinks. It's immature. And it's pompous. I could go on, but you get the idea.

For those who know this individual and have their contact info or still have access to OGR contact info PM them and invite them to join OGF.

When one is faced with a life crisis whether it be one of relationships, or health there is nothing more comforting than a sense of normalcy and or control of one's being. It is those instances when the enjoyment of the familiar and engagement in the favored pastimes can take your mind from your troubles and allow you to escape into your comfort zone if but for a little while. The experience is therapeutic and restorative to continue on despite the challenges that you are experiencing.
How sad that this is not seen as a relevant and acceptable post theme in a hobbyist forum in the land of little big man.

I'm sick and tired of reading about another forums problems and faults but that other forum is so bad that is like watching a train wreck day after day!! Dave

Hey, get a message to him and tell him the door’s open over here! Great subject matter by the way. I recall Model Railroader mag (I think) did an article on a layout built by a guy working through his cancer treatment. It was 3-rail O in an Old West setting using Lionel Generals etc. Wonderful article on layout therapy - let’s start the thread here. Dave

Dave This is just an other example of the arbitrary capricious nature of the little machine and forum that literally sits between a Chinese restaurant and a tattoo parlor. I’m sorry, but the way they have treated people here, taken their money and refused to refund when they cancelled their subscription, they have earned all the scorn that is coming their way. It’s too bad they aren’t the company going away.

I went with DCS simply because at the time Lionel's command control handheld (TMCC) didn't have a screen. Now I'm at the point where I don't want to have 2 different command control systems due to complexity, and mostly, cost.

I have MTH locomotives and I just run them conventionally with my ZW-L
