...There's a garden center over in Timonium that has a decent amount of stuff, but I can't tell if it's recent production or NOS... Are you talking about Valley View Farms in Cockeysville? We've been there many times when my brother-in-law and his wife lived near there. The times we went it seemed like they had quite a variety as it got closer to the holidays.
We haven't been there in many years, so I can't comment about their current stock.

Yes, that's the place (Valley View Farms). We generally make an effort to swing by there a couple weeks before Christmas. Last year they still had a fairly large display of D-56, although quite a bit smaller than what they had say 8-10 years ago.
It's a bit of sensory overload when you go in there.
I did a bit of reading on the web; it sounds like the company is still producing new stuff (perhaps not quite in the volume of years ago). It's like toy trains...it seems there's a lot of stuff out there in the secondary market.

The last time we were there was probably in that time-frame (8-10 years), maybe longer. I'm not too surprised that they've cut back, maybe sales aren't as brisk as they were years ago.

With pricing going up everywhere it will impact company's like dept56. I have noticed the price increases from dept56 and its caused me to not buy the items I wanted this year. But keep checking around on eBay and other venues for used items, I have seen some deals. It seems the secondary market is a good place not only for dept56 but our trains also.
Btw, check out the TVC site, tons of great stuff and its just not for village collectors.

Thanks gang. Support is appreciated. Just posted this month's videos on the "Village Videos" page and there are trains and/or trolleys in some of them. The new "Fun Stuff" page has posted with over 100 cartoons, jokes, games etc. all free, no ads, and nothing for sale.

I am working on the “food court” on the layout – I have two pieces that have moving parts – Krispy Cream and the Doughnut Shop
Do you know of other Snow Village food shops that have moving parts?
Thank you - SorenK

If there are, they'd definitely be in the "Original Snow Village" collection. I don't know much about that. My village is mostly from the "Heritage Village" collections and set in the 1880s. No Mickey Ds there. Hope that narrows the search a bit. I'd also think that there would be some in Lemax. And perhaps searching lists like ebay might give you some leads as well.

I haven't bought any ceramic buildings in many years, but a trip to Walmart for dog chow had me wandering around in the Christmas decor section. I saw this and thought it looked decent: Certainly not overall quality of D-56 or even Lemax, but not too bad for a downtown placeholder. I noticed this thing comes with internal lighting and a plug-in adapter...is that the norm now for ceramic buildings? It's been awhile...

That's a really cool looking building, Healey. It's a nice addition to your layout.
