I redeived the refurbished track in the mail today. It is post war Lionel NY track. I got 30 straight sections, and most importantly, 24 wide radius O72 curves. The track is rust / pit / corrosion free with a nice polish. It will be part of two nested wide radius loops with long straightaways. Alfred (Even though I am excited, I refrained from making an unboxing video. I have included a photo however.) Attachments:

healey36, good decision (even if it was a tough one) to keep the unit since it runs well and that you will straighten the frame. Do you sense the breeze running through your head? Alfred Thanks, but we'll see if it was a good decision or not. If I can't get it back to straight, I'll see the imperfection every time I look at it. I'll post a few pics once I take it apart.

healey36, It has been mentioned many times on the forum about how items are poorly packaged and are damaged during shipment. It has to drive everyone crazy who has been expecting an item in a particular condition, and then receiving a damaged item. On another note, I forgot to mention that there were no scratches, dents, bent rails, flaired tube ends, and ill-fitting pins. I am absolutely thrilled with the track condition. The only thing is, is that My trains won't know how to run on them. (The processing to refurbish the track was extensive, and track was bundled in lots of ten firmly in plastic.) Alfred

Brian, love the bay window cabeese! Might I ask if the marker lights on the rear are functional? Phil, apologies for missing your question and for the late reply.
I don't have a powered track yet to test the marker lights, but the MTH description says the interiors have Overhead Lighting. Yet to be seen is if the interior lights reflect through the markers.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and have to say I'm impressed with everything I've read thus far. Hope to learn a lot here.
Anyway, just took delivery of some MTH Soo F7A and B locos and they did a nice job on the paint (I'm a former conductor for the Soo) just need to convert them to 2R. Also picked up a bunch of Lionel GN 21" pass cars incl their wifi camera dome car which arrived with a busted dome. Called Lionel for a replacement, but none are available...REALLY?! So this $400 car is now a piece of junk? These removable dome pieces are tenuous and easily broken, how can Lionel not have had the foresight to stock extras? Even Weaver stocked spares for their dome cars and I know this because I bought some before they closed up. Unfort, the Weaver version does not fit the Lionel cars. I've written a scathing letter to Lionel about this, but I doubt it will do any good since those at the throttle at Lionel don't seem to care very much about their customers nor their products since they don't have much in the way of parts, in fact, looking at their parts site, they don't have any parts for these cars whatsoever.

Welcome aboard. Did you look to see if a MTH dome can be modified?

Do you have access to an undamaged dome you can borrow? I have an acquaintance who's become rather a dab hand at making molds to duplicate old Marx domes, and he might be willing to take a crack at your dilemma if you can find an original from which he can make a mold to cast a replacement. Let me know, and I'll send you his contact info.

Wife and I braved the heat and spent a few hours at the Brimfield Flea Market. I can always find some bargains there. Found a couple of new old stock kits to keep me busy when winter sets in and a model of a 1966 GTO.

Hmmm...I've never seen that "manual" lumber loader before. That might be something worth looking around for.

Back from the LCCA Convention in Omaha, Nebraska and did add to the accumulation. Afterall if you drive that far you should bring back some stuff.
