Completed the rear clerestory wall by installing the last window section. Then caulked a few places and touched up the tan and concrete paint in the rear. Tomorrow I plan to touch up the front and sides tan and concrete paint. Not sure how long that will take. Paula and I got out the interior details that we have obtained over the years for the engine service area. The largest are work platforms that we got from Dave at Crescent Locomotive Works several years ago. We plan to paint the work platforms yellow to make them easily visible by the workers. Can’t believe we are actually thinking about lights and interior after so many years. We ordered the roundhouse from Dennis Brennan 5/12/13 and picked it up at York 4/26/15. It has been awhile. The roundhouse is a big project and we very much appreciate the great job that Dennis did. I won’t call the process easy but it has been fun and doable. We reviewed the next couple of pages of the instructions which primarily concern roof beams and are divided by section, front, clerestory, and rear. When the paint touch up is completed, roof beams here we come. Photos of the rear clerestory and wall

Started taking the Christmas consists off the layout. One loop done, three more to go. Taking down Christmas is one of my least favorite jobs. Took the second loop down today, 25 Christmas cars and 2 Diesel engines, put them all back in their boxes and under the layout till Thanksgiving. Tomorrow the Xmas train on the Upper loop comes off, gets boxed up, and put under the layout. Halfway home.

Adam the close proximity of the bar to the Club may not be a very good idea for a bunch of geezers.
Nice building.

Bill, your comment reminds me of a story my grandma used to tell. She grew up in the 1890s at a place near here called Coal Hollow (pronounced holl-uh in Western Pennsylvania). Anyway, there was a neighboring farmer who used to go to the local watering hole and always drank too much. He would leave the horse and wagon untied outside, so that when he came out, he would fall into the back of the wagon. The horse would take him home, and his wife would go out, wake him up, and take him into the house. Motorists today could learn a lesson from him. Always have a designated driver...even if it is a horse.

Today I added a Lionel #3424 Operating Brakeman Car. I had to make some repairs to the car, clean it up and service the moving parts. Once I had the triggering base plates connected to the track, they both kept shorting out. When I figured out the problem, I added electrical tape between the base assembly plates and the center rail. No more shorts. This box car is a nice addition to my little 5ft. X 10ft. layout. Nice! I love it when I solve those annoying little problems like that. Good work!

I had this annoying empty spot next to the OGF Clubhouse and decided I needed a shady little rundown corner bar. The little mini-me building is the result. The entire thing is 3D printed. I used the fantastic painting and ghost sign techniques from Andre (huge thanks Andre!). I agree, the ghost signage looks great! I assume there's a secret inside door between the two establishments?

Three loops de-Christmased, one to go. Doing this a little per day has made this a better experience.

I used the fantastic painting and ghost sign techniques from Andre (huge thanks Andre!). A lot of engineers after finishing their run would drop into a local watering hole for refreshments. Nothing wrong with being next to the railway site. I like it. I'm sure several, maybe 1 or 2 OGF members, would appreciate the close proximity on a hot day.
