Thanks heavens the so-called discount pricing saga ends on 8/22. Perhaps that will throw some cold water on these passions.

It won’t die, because people love to complain about Lionel’s prices. So even if this thread fades away, it will come back in late January 2025 when Lionel’s next catalog comes out. “I looked at new Lionel’s catalog!! Wait until you see the price of this Legacy full scale train set! Too rich for me…. Lionel is destroying the hobby with their high prices!!… $300 for a scale boxcar with sound!!! Lionel is pricing me out of the hobby!” And it will go with maximum effective range of zero meters.
