Late breaking news. All the F-19s are expected to be in the Lionel warehouse by 11/22+/- per Ryan Kunkel on the Trainworld Lionel Halloween live feed a few hours ago. In addition all 2024 items are expected to arrive before the end of the year. Better get those home equity applications completed quickly! Forget about an October surprise, it looks like a December to remember!

As for the other items all arriving by Y/E 2024. That could mean we're gonna get SLAMMED in November/December: P/E locos, passenger coaches and sets (including the Lionel store's plasma-coated berk due later THIS month); AEC glow-in-the-dark set (superbass B-unit due THIS month, set due end of Nov); and last but certainly not least the F-19's. Dang!!!

Yep it's going to be an expensive next few months. Halloween wood sided cars, Halloween F19, PE Observation Car, WTIU, Engine of the Year Hiawatha. I'm just glad I learned along time ago when an item isn't delivered on schedule that money goes in the drawer until it comes in.

Here is my question for the correction of the decoration mistake. Would the air pumps have to be removed to repaint? Would the painting be done in place? Would replacement steam chests have been made and painted while the engines were in route to China and then swapped out at the factory for a quick turnaround? That part of the story would be interesting to know for knowing sake. Any guesses?

That part of the story would be interesting to know for knowing sake. Any guesses? Whatever needed to be "corrected" had to have been done VERY quickly. For Lionel to be expecting them on 11/22 -- just one month from now -- and the typical "time on the water" being 7 to 8 weeks... that means the F-19's have already been on the water 3-4 weeks already. And it only seems like yesterday that they were shipped back. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see these until January 2025 at the earliest -- especially given everything else that's supposedly gonna ship from Lionel NC before year's end. My gut tells me some of this stuff will trickle into our hands in January... given the normal "last couple of Lionel shipments to dealers" at the end of December. Still gonna be a whopper of a 4th quarter though. Thanks for reminding me, Marty, about those Halloween woodside passenger cars. OUCH!!! Thankfully I passed on this year's "locomotive of the year".

Maybe they made all new engines while the others were being shipped back and melted the returned engines to be recast for next years catalog offerings!

Being in the Manufacturing industry for many moons... I am almost sure they had a replacement smoke box with the correctly painted flying air pumps painted and waiting to go. If they had to masks these and paint that would have been quite the endeavor. Regardless I am going to eagle eye these very closely when they come in!

This afternoon someone posted on a Facebook O-Scale 3-Rail Trains group that he spoke with Lionel today… and heard the following:
F19’s are due in Lionel HQ the week of Thanksgiving. Great news for those who ordered the Christmas model. OTOH, the Halloween model obviously missed Oct 31st this year. But we’ll have it for next year’s Halloween.
In addition, the H-7’s are due in Lionel HQ tomorrow (Wednesday) and then ship to dealers later this week or early next week. So they’re just around the corner.

This last few weeks of the year are going to be harsh! LOL!
