It’s a vicious cycle.
Maybe it is time to break this "........vicious cycle"! If we don't spend our hard earned $$$$ with Lionel and let them know why. Of course, if you just can't live without the latest repeat/remake, broke out of the box, for the moment, it is still a free country. I, for one, quit spending my hard earned $$$ some years ago. Enough is enough! Put down a deposit and maybe, just maybe they might actually make what you ordered years ago. Maybe?

If the color is wrong or the product has other flaws, then I don't want it. I just need to be the one driving the bus, as dealers are inclined to ship these products QUICKLY -- often within a day or two of Lionel delivering the pallet with the dealer.

This undisclosed decoration error has all the makings of an Agatha Christie mystery novel or an A&E reality program entitled 'The Lion Snores'.
'Hush my darling, don't fear my darling. The lion sleeps tonight'.

What is the Zulu phrase for QC?!

Still no official word from Lionel on why ALL F-19 locomotives now appear delayed. I can understand the #492 model having a "deco error" and that model being delayed. But why delay the ENTIRE series of F-19 locomotives? Is there something else amiss with these steamers that Lionel isn't admitting?
Lionel's webstore is now showing a new ETA for the F-19's as 12/19/2024. Certainly cutting it pretty close for the Christmas model. And forgettabout timing for this year's Halloween model.
Read it and weep...

Avoid disappointment, lower your expectations. The only good to come of this is that it provides a clear fiscal landing path for the Triplex (assuming that delivery date holds), and the METCA holiday switchers. Pity the poor dealers who were expecting an infusion of cash in late July/early August from F-19s. But December could be ugly/painful!

The Triplex is due late August. Mr. Muffin's custom-run A1 Berk in late September. Polar Express Berks in mid-October. AEC glow-in-the-dark set AND P/E scale set due in mid-November. And now the F-19's around Christmastime. So 4th quarter could be brutal. But that seems to be the way Lionel production scheduling tends to work out anyway in most years.

And how could I forget the H7’s are due in late-October as well. Quite an amazing line-up of big-ticket items — some of which have custom-runs in addition to the catalog production SKU’s. Personally, that’s just too much to grab everything that catches my eyes!!!
But the YouTubers are gonna need a second job!!!

In making a casual review at all of the F-19s the only thing they all have in common IMO is white wall leading trucks and drive wheels. Now to me a decoration error is not something material but readily viewable such as paint. I cannot imagine that Lionel would return all the engines for a primer gray cab interior as they have released engines with that misstep before. Whitewalls on the other hand stick out like a sore thumb and readily noticeable to anyone and everyone looking at the train. While we wait for December to roll around it might be fun to come up with a poll or better yet a raffle as to what the decoration error was/is.

For no good reason I checked the delivery date for the F-19s and accompanying passenger cars, and all the delivery dates have disappeared; all now showing as sold out.
Anyway care to indicate what that means in Lionel Land?

Anyway care to indicate what that means in Lionel Land? It means that what needs to be redone on these F-19s will require a production set up to fix. They will have to reschedule that production, which could affect other products, or they will have to send it to a 3rd party to get repaired / redone. I would say that the December date is probably an estimate. I kept my older F-19 so I am good to the new one arises. I learn my lesson on the Henry Dreyfus Hudson's. I sold my older TMCC set version, now sadly I have none.

But I will be very wary to take delivery until there are some reactions of the products when they finally arrive. I am glad we are not talking organ transplants!
