Joe, you’re tugging on my N scale strings! A little while ago I subscribed to Broadway Limited’s emails and it’s got me thinking about N scale again. The stuff they’re coming out with is amazing!
Check it out: broadway-limited.com
Hi Brian, I know what you mean about N scale calling out to you. I was looking to build a small N scale layout that I could store under my O layout even before we decided that it was time to downsize and simplify so making the switch to N wasn’t that difficult. When you move into your new home maybe you’ll have room for both O and N.I subscribed to BLI’s emails a few months ago. I have 2 FEC SD70s with DCC and sound ordered. According to BLI’s delivery schedule they are due in June. I know delivery schedules are usually overly optimistic so I’m hoping to get them sometime this summer.
They make steam, diesel and even electric engines in a variety of road names and eras. It’s a great time to be in N.

Looks great Joe. N doesn't look that small in pictures. I love my S scale but it takes up our whole basement.

I’ve always liked S scale but never got involved. I grew up with O and later had HO. I guess I never tried S because it wasn’t that plentiful and took up the about same space as O gauge.

I am fortunate to have a spare bedroom for my train room.

My father had HO when my brother and I were young like 6. I had HO in the seventies in the basement of my second house. Got divorced in the eighties and gave it all to my brother and started S in 2014 and in 2017 started O. Now the basement in overflowing with trains S & O.

I picked up these two locomotives today. They are Atlas Gold (DCC/sound) GP40-2 engines.

Joe, it is good that you are keeping us updated on your N scale layout. No problem with talking about N scale here as far as I am concerned - you are a long time OGF member and deserve the privledge. By the way. the 70 / 30 distribution at your local train shop is pretty good. Although I do not have any modern / scale equipment, I do realize the cost factor, and appreciate the scale factor. Alfred .

I love the post-war Lionel trains you have. They are the trains I grew up with and they inspired my love of model railroading. I’m looking forward to seeing your new layout come to life.

Well, I'm going to be selling my N scale stuff as I went the opposite way a few years ago. Any of the posters building in N Scale want me to PM you when I list stuff?

This module is pretty much done. I’m waiting for some glue to dry and then I can glue down the DQ, the gas station and the building on the left and lastly the vehicles. May add some bushes but I’m pretty happy with it as is.

Looks good Joe, seems you have a good eye and skills. Every time I see pictures of your layout it keeps creeping into my brain that I could do so much more for much less.
