Not sure where my other post about Standard Gauge is and don't really care to look for it. My latest purchases. 1835E/W
And to go with it, 309, 310, & 312
Haven't gotten either in yet but will soon, the engine is suppose to be tomorrow. and haven't gotten a date on the cars yet.

Nice pick up, my brother had std gauge and he had a bunch of it. But when he passed it was all sold off.

A nice looking set, for sure. I had a Lionel 385, which is the loco the 1835 is based on, but I traded it for a 10E set quite a few years ago. These locos (385/1835) have really nice proportions (some of the others look a bit ungainly, if I'm honest). They look good running around the standard 42-inch curve.

Nice group there! Standard Gauge is a common rabbit-hole I fall down… 😉 Dave I fell down it, and I think it won't let me out. I have 4 402's one is apple green, 2 408E's both are apple green, 2 390's one modern remake, other prewar original, 1 400E modern remake, and now a 1835E/W so I think I have enough engines but I'm eyeing another 402 that someone custom painted Orange, that would go nicely with my Orange 418,419,431,& 490

Nice stuff and rare. Quite a few years ago on a trip to Madison Hardware I saw Lou placing a number of boxes in a pile for shipment to a mail order customer. The boxes were big and I asked about them. Lou pulled out a car from one of the boxes and showed it to me. It was a brand new standard gauge passenger car. Then Lou bragged and said "how many Lionel dealers still have this stuff on the shelf"?. I often wonder what happened to the Standard NOS trains that they had. Best I can tell they were auctioned off when the Richard Kuhn auctions of the Madison Hardware inventory were held.

While we’re on the subject, I was speaking with a post-war Lionel friend of mine and he asked about my little group of Std Ga stuff. He’s had some similar big stuff for 20 years or so….. the plot thickens - will keep you posted. Dave
