Wow 1951, now your really going back! I was only 2 years old and I don't recall that we had a TV set at that time. Never saw this short movie but it does bring back memories of the post war period.

Then you probable missed this one also. Well, yes, if you mean just that particular clip, but I well remember the regular Howdy Doody show on television! I guess Chief Thunderthud and Princess Summerfall Winterspring were off celebrating the winter solstice or some other native American holiday, and couldn't make the trip to the North Pole on the surplus rocket from the Flash Gordon series with the other regulars! Incidentally, I can't be sure under all the clown makeup, but I believe that may be Bob Keeshan portraying Clarabell the Clown, who later starred as Captain Kangaroo in his own classic children's series.

Yes, your correct. Bob Keeshan played the first Clarabell 47 to 53 and is Clarabell in this show. Now don't forget the Clarabell theme song.

A couple questions. (and yes I know the answers but do you?) Did Clarabell ever talk? If so what did Clarabell say?

Maybe, just maybe some of us remember this Christmas Classic when we were young. I do. Frazier Thomas on WGN's Channel 9 in Chicago used to play this every year, on the Garfield Goose hand puppet show (Garfield = the goose who thinks he's king of the United States).

Not as long ago, but this is a snippet of my favorite Christmas cartoon when I was small. We had the record of it as well which I wore out.

First year of high school. Simpler times. Cheap gas. Muscle cars. Girls were more conservative. They didnt go around half naked. Could carry your deer rifle around in the window of your pickup. Mickey D burgers were 50 cents. Great tv shows. If you had an a$$ whooping coming from your dad, you got it! Had to love growing up in the '60s.
