That’s a very creative way to display your village, Ken. I love the blue backlighting in the kitchen.

We are still in the process of moving into our new house, and consequently the 'under the tree' layout is a bit sparse, and not very photographic. None the less, the Christmas Tree is up and we will be celebrating Christmas Day with the family in the new house. Last year, I did a very modest ecclectic scene for under the tree. I have a loop of O27 track on a white-painted platform. In the scene from 2022, I have a Scout running with one box car and a flat car. youtu.be/qD5kUq1UePI

I also setup a couple smaller displays of my village within in our home. One in my office on file cabinet that had my Department 56 Lionel Train Store and other Dept 56 Train Village Pieces. Then another display on our old TV stand. I squeezed in MTH Bump and Go Trolley around the village on this display. I had to be creative with track size setup in order to make it fit in! These look great, Ken!

The tree will stay up another week, but the townsfolk have already started tearing down: Another Christmas in the books...

Not so fast! The 25th was only the beginning. Christmas ends on Jan 6 with the Feast of the Epiphany. May not get to taking down decorations until mid Jan or so.

Yup, twelve days, yada-yada-yada...the tree will come down next weekend...outdoor lights may stay up a bit longer. Until then, traffic on the under-tree loop will remain steady (regardless of what the town citizens are up to).

My under-tree-loop looks a bit lame in comparison, lol. A local freight headed by a Lionel 1688 Torpedo eases past the station on New Year's Eve, headlight and marker lights blazing: The Beekman is throwing a heluva ball-drop bash in a few hours!

Came across this excellent video and Christmas layout. I really need to step up mu game here. I have watched him setup his layout for past several years. Mostly the same each year, but a great setup. I think he said it took 20 days to setup.

Better late than never. Here's my 2023 Christmas living room layout. I put up a layout upstairs in my house every year as a tribute to previous family generations that had trains before me. And to the ones who now have them with me. Not much, but here it is. I do have two permanent layouts down stairs. One "O" Gauge tinplate, and one Standard Gauge tinplate. Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone here. (Click images to enlarge)

Excellent! A really nice variation of the folded figure-eight, in tinplate.
