Very sorry to hear about you mom Ken. I will keep her and the family in my prayers. My mom went through a bought of shingles years ago. It was fairly mild but I remember how painful it was for her.

Christmas Town USAMcAdenville, NC
Many years ago, I named my Village Christmas Town, USA after the town of McAdenville. McAdenville, is a small town outside of Charlotte, NC. It used to be a small mill village. At Christmas, it attracts visitors from all over the country to see the lighted Christmas Lights in the small town. The tradition of Christmas Town began in 1956 when a few members of town began lighting trees around the community center. The trees were lighted in Green, Red and White bulbs only.
It has been about 25 years since I have been to McAdenville. Last Friday, my family and I took a trip to McAdenville. Like most towns, it has changed. The nostalgia is not the same as the town has become more modern, so that part is little bit disappointing. However, as my daughter said, it is like walking through my village at home! Almost every home is lighted with Christmas Lights. Here are few pictures from McAdenville, Christmas Town USA...

The 2023 Christmas garden at Kenilworth in Towson, Maryland: A light crowd at mid-afternoon on the 16th, yet the children were euphoric.

I am always excited to see this guys village videos. He only sets up his village every 2 years; hence, he only has has a new video every 2 years. He starts building his village in August for the years he sets it up. He lives in Europe and is professional photographer. Much of scenery is hand crafted. His earlier videos from previous years shows the creation of his village which is interesting. He runs Bachmann 0n30 Trains.
He posted this evening his video for his village for 2023!

Steve's videos are awesome. We've featured some of his videos on our website over the years, and he is in our Village Video Hall of Fame. Small correction - he's from New Zealand.

2019 was my largest Christmas Train layouts I created and probably my most favorite layout I created. I had at least 10 trains running at one time on this layout. I started in September to set it up and too 2 months to take down. Here are some photos of it... wow, really cool 😎 I love the layers (and the billboard) The close up of the train station shows great attention to details in your layout. Bill

That was a fabulous Christmas layout, Ken! Truly fabulous! It’s a shame you had to take it down.
