Almost there with my annual Christmas Village. Waiting for a couple of minior ite,s to finish off some detail to arrive. Then I will take a video. I've also got several ideas to improve it for next year. Funny how that happens! Adam, very beautiful job done on your layout! Nice photos! I do the same thing before I even I get my layout completed, I am thinking about next year's layout!

I found this video on YouTube tonight while looking at Christmas Layouts. I don't know who this layout belongs too. Their YouTube Channel is new this year, but you can tell they have built many layouts in the past in order to build a large layout like this. Their video is well done too. They say at end of their video it took 2 and half months to build it and 5 generations within their family have enjoyed Lionel Trains.

I was running one of trains under the tree this morning. I added my Lionel Snow Global Car to the consist. I bought this car several years ago with the intention of modifying it. I wanted to add a Dept 56 figurine inside the Globe of Snoopy and Woodstock which would fit into my Christmas Layout theme of Peanuts. The car came with ugly church inside the Snow Globe! I remember the struggle of trying to pry open the snow globe without breaking it. However, I managed to get it open and remove the ugly church and add my Dept 56 figurine. The snow globe is air driven, so the fake snow inside floats around. It also plays several Christmas songs which are synchronized to Red Blinking Christmas lights on the one side of the car. You have the option to turn off the Christmas songs and just have snow floating around inside the Globe or you can turn off both. The car is very loud when you have the Global turned on with floating the snow inside or when the music is playing. The disadvantage of this car is it is tall and wide. You can't have it go through bridges nor through tight spaces like within my Christmas village where the buildings or trees are close to the track. However, I enjoy having it part of my Collection of Christmas Trains! Attachments:

Smoke under the Christmas Tree!!This is my best smoking steam engine. I have had it since 2003. It is a RailKing ProtoSounds 1 engine. It will out smoke my MTH ProtoSound 2 and 3 engines any day!! I have not run this engine in several years but it always smokes like this. This is my 1st MTH Steam Engine. I was disappointed when I got my 1st MTH ProtoSounds 2 Steam Engine and it did not smoke like this! It runs conventionally with no command or speed control, but it sure can smoke up the place in a few minutes!!
It took about a hour to clear the room from smoke this morning! I opened the door and turned on the ceiling fan. Luckily, the temperatures were in the 60's today!
This is one of my favorite photos of this engine from my 2003 Christmas Layout!

Here's a pic of what the wife made for a tabletop decoration. Yes, she made it all herself.

Christmas tree's up...other than a corrugated brick-paper skirt (paper on order), I'm calling this done: I have a new MTH Christmas trolley I bought up at Mainline a couple weeks back...hoping to get that on the track first (once I find it). Now, back to the outdoor lighting.

That "angel" at the top was crafted by my daughter at the age of four; a toilet-paper roll, a bit of construction paper, some glitter, and a pipe-cleaner. It's been up there for 29 years. First thing she looks for every year.

Under the category "Home Christmas Decorations", the mantel got a new treatment this year. For 365 days of the year it holds our small collection of duck decoys; this year for Christmas, I added some greenery and a string of twenty white LEDs inserted in expended shotgun shells: The guys from one of the local shooting ranges sell these strings each year as a fund-raiser for the local foodbank.
