We had a very good time with our son and his family. His wife is a very good cook and I am stuffed. We brought dessert.
I had two helpings of turkey and all the fixings and the best thing is we didn't have to cook all that food. This is the only time I get to eat turkey.
How was your Thanksgiving?

Very quiet. My wife and I cut up a turkey a couple of days ago, stored what we weren't going to need right away in the freezer, and cooked part of one today. I made a pumpkin pie using my Mother's recipe, my wife made a dry stuffing from a recipe she found on YouTube, and the rest was just the usual mashed potatoes and green beans. Once everything was underway we did some reading and I also did some toy train photography. Dinner was around 4PM, everything tasted great, we cleaned up, took a short walk, and picked up where we had left off in our respective reading - it was a nice day - I hope everyone had a good day as well.

Had a nice Turkey Day with just myself and my katz. Made a meal for me, stuffed myself, we watched a lot of TV and put up the outside Christmas lights and decorations. Weather was nice today.
Decorated the train room downstairs. Tomorrow the tree and trains go up in the living room. This year should be INTERESTING as I now have a new kat that replaced Mr. Meep. He is a young yearling and full of himself.
I will put up the tree and trains and use unbreakable ornaments and forgo the small stuff on the train garden. Just buildings and vehicles this year. The new kat thinks EVERYTHING is food! I don't want him ingesting little things on the layout. Like the other kittehs before him, he will learn to accept the Christmas setup and things will be fine.
As I am writing this we are ALL just laying around doing nothing.
It was a nice day. Very relaxing and calm. Something to be thankful for.
Hope the rest of you all had a great Thanksgiving. Now for CHRISTMAS!

Had my Nephew and wife and kid. They brought the food, cooked and served the food. Had lots of turkey, cranberry sauce, potato salad, stuffing and a few other things. Can't forget dessert of cherry cheese cake, pumpkin pie and whipped cream. Spent the rest of the night watching football. Now that I live alone its great having somebody come over to spend the holiday with me.

When my mother in law was alive she lived in a senior citizens place for her last 15 years. It was always so sad to see all the seniors sitting in the lounge downstairs who had no one coming to see them saying hello to you and trying to make a little conversation on the holiday.

It was a great Thanksgiving. The food, the company and the venue were all magnificent. The time goes by so fast.
As my Dad use to say, “Well there’s another holiday shot in the a**!”

It was wonderful. We had a nice meal. We don’t eat meat these days (various reasons, health for me). Everything you see is plant-based and delicious. Today we head to Santa Village in the White Mountains then tomorrow to Polly’s Pancake Parlor and some quaint New England shopping in Woodstock Vt. Beautiful scenery! This is our annual traditional start to the Christmas season.

Since we just moved and a lot of my wife’s cooking weapons are yet to be found we bought a rotisserie chicken at Publix. She was able to make biscuits, mashed potatoes and green beans so we had a small feast. In the evening we went to my cousin and her husband’s place for dessert and fellowship. We had a good Thanksgiving especially considering the house is a mess and there’s way too much to do to get settled in.
Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

It was a great relaxing day for me and the wife. Usually in past we drove or flew to my brothers house and his family for Thanksgiving, but decided to stay home this year. Wife had all the things we love at this time of year and maybe more then I could put away. We spent the day catching up on some books, reminiscing about friends, pets, and family and those that were no longer with us.

What a Thanksgiving! My daughter (From Rochester NY) and her husband along with four children (16,14,12 and 9) are staying with us till Sunday (came Tuesday). My Son, his wife and Curtis III (2), came up from Woodbridge VA. My older brother and his wife came over and my older sister came for desert. What a feast. Turkey, Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Succotash (corn and my favorite LIMA BEANS), Cranberry sauce and relish, Gravy, Stuffing, Rolls and I know I still am forgetting something. We had dessert a little later as we all had to wait for things to settle in our overstuffed stomachs. Deserts were Pumpkin and apple pies with or without ice cream and cool whip. Cranberry cake ( my grandsons favorite). Was fantastic having family. Only my younger sister from MO did not make it.
NOW LET ME TELL YOU THE BEST PART!!!
In the morning the four older grandchildren went upstairs to the train room. I then showed them all the boxes under the train table. MTH Premier and Rail King, Lionel, Atlas, Weaver, Menards and some others. I then announced that for twenty dollars each child they could carry all those boxes down all the way to the basement and then stack them on the shelves I made for them and PUT THEM IN NUMERICAL ORDER BY MANUFACTURER. After three hours they had tehm down to the basement. Today they go back to finish putting them on the shelves. Only got the MTH Rail King done and there are way more Premier let alone Atlas and Lionel (not much of the last two compared to MTH). What a blessing to have them do it. Worth way more than the $80 it is costing me. My legs and back were sore after watching them. I just sat and watched. FANTASTIC THANKSGIVING as I am SOOOOO THANKFUL! God Bless Everyone and may the Trains be running and smiles and memories be made in the coming weeks and months!

It is very sad how some people treat the elderly. Our parents will be taken care of and like will move in with us if and when that need arrives. In many countries in Europe and Asia, that's the way it works. Parenting is a sort of pay-it-forward model, where the folks move back with the children down the road (rather than the American model where many children move back in with their aging parents). The sense of entitlement seems to have greatly surpassed that of responsibility around here...it's unfortunate.

I was the main cook the highlight of their day was eating so I made sure their food was tasty. A lot of them were just put in there by their families because they didn't want to be bothered, but let there be an event where I put out a buffet and their worthless family members would come and try to eat all the food. They were suppose to pay which a lot of them didn't and the useless management wouldn't enforce it claiming they didn't want offend anybody. They didn't count on me being there and I made it clear the residents ate first.

Ours has been the same for 12 years. My wife and I spend Thanksgiving with our 2 dogs. Which is great, but lonely sometimes. I miss my deceased relatives who always made the effort to bring the family together for Holidays. The current crop is either too old and unable to travel or organize, while the younger ones are a$$holes. My in-laws are either a$$holes or have no back bone.
