Those are 2 great structures, Jim. I have an inherited condition called tension tremors. It's not serious and has no bad effects other than causing my hands to shake. My shaky hands make building models extremely difficult so all my buildings are ready built. I used to enjoy building structures and doing other modeling projects but have given up on most of them.
This is one of my buildings.

Yes, those are great waterfront structures - beautifully photographed too.
Structures have to be a separate display item for me, although sometimes I place them trackside on the temporary circuit. A while back I got this in a sale although it is really too big for my purposes:

The only structure I have actually worked on myself, which was to modify and not build from scratch, is a Menards Oak Point nuclear power plant which is described in another thread:

Wow. All of these (apart from my own paltry contribution) are great examples of what can be done in O scale - and we have not got on to bridges yet, which I think is another part of the same subject. I have built a couple of HO scale structures, one of which I still have, but with space (which is my problem) you cannot beat O scale for visual impact. I often think about the old Chicago Museum of Science and Industry layout and its very distinctive structures - originally in O scale and now HO.
