Alfred I saw many gg1's over the years being I have lived 35 miles west of Philadelphia my whole life. I got to see the Bicentennial gg1 at 30th Street station. Did you know that there plans to have some passenger cars painted in the same scheme but it never happened. The bicentennial gg1 became my favorite paint scheme.. In the 70's and 80's I took many pictures along the main line. When they were running they were very quiet and they would scare the heck out you as they passed if you didn't see them coming. Dave

I had to move some trains since I'm about to resume work on the layout.Well if you have to move them you might as well run a few laps. Legacy B&O E7 A-A pulling the Columbian Legacy PRR K4 pulling the Broadway Limited. Legacy C&O Ten Wheeler Freight
Legacy PRR GP7 Freight

Dave, That was a nice deep tone horn - on which engine? I got a repro Lionel 2023 engine horn to use hidden on the layout. It does not have an adjusting screw, and I can't get that deep horn sound; it sounds more like a buzzer. Alfred

Alfred Alfred, I think the horn at the beginning is the PRR Legacy GP7 they have a nice deep sound as does the B&O Legacy E7 A-A. I need to find a tripod to hold my phone so I can scroll through all 4 trains to blow their whistles and horns. I'm using the Legacy control system.

I've been running a post war Lionel S2 Turbine with a short box car consist. That loco is capable of finding any track faults. I have to fix track problems that are from sloppy installation from years ago. The S2 is a long, heavy engine and needs the track joints to be just right and level. Alfred and

Today, I briefly ran a small box car consist headed by a Lionel Santa Fe FA (#218) to test some recently wired accessories. I included a PRR N5C lighted porthole caboose (536417) that I recently repaired with front and rear deck assemblies. These were reproductions including railing, ladder and grab bar. I had this caboose as a Kid and was pretty rough with it (although, the shell is in great shape ). Except for the soft plastic, and lack of detail on the deck part itself, the new pieces fit very well. I’ve got a Lionel 45 Gateman working on the Northeast part of the West Loop, a horn sounding when the train traverses the midway point on the Northside track, and I have a Whistle Shack sounding simultaneously activating a Lionel 145 Gateman when the train is in the Northeast part of the East Loop. (I have the whistle wired so it can be turned off when running diesel – I have yet to put a switch on the horn to disable it when running steam. All of the items are post war. I am in the process of re—locating a Highway Crossing Gate, and trouble-shooting a O22 switch problem to the spur. (I also have to install an apron which is missing on the 218) Alfred
