My favorite MTH Engine is my Crescent Limited Pacific with PS-3. I also have an ABA of the Pere Marquette E8s in PS-1. Those are fun to run old school conventional. My soon to be favorite is the CP SD80 Holiday Train! That is going to look so cool at the club this Christmas!!!!
Off the wall question: JDaddy... when is the Novi Train Show this year? Any idea?

Thanks guys. I have to plan ahead if I hope to attend, and I'm a little out of the loop being so far away.

I have quite a few MTH engines but my favorite one is the Santa Fe F3s ABBA with matching passenger cars that were just released last December. These engines have the plating on the sides that are just beautiful and it continues onto the passenger cars. I had these running on the layout from January until September without any problems whatsoever. I will pull up a video later.

Josef, the youtube link doesn't work for me. It brings me to my own account, not to your video.

I have three MTH Premier engines at the moment. Really don't have a favorite but my son loves the challenger.
This video from 2013, man does time fly.

I added DCS to my layout--something I said I would never do--early last year--and I love it. Only one of my DCS-equipped locos came that way out of the box, and that's my Premier Dreyfus Hudson. Not one of my favorites, but I like it. The rest of my DCS locos were converted. The first conversion was an early PS-1 Premier Blue Comet, that I gave to Marty Fitzhenry to convert. He did an outstanding job on it and it really improves the way it performs, especially the puffing smoke unit that PS-1 locos didn't have. The other MTH loco I have with DCS is an early PS-1 scale NYC Hudson. It was new-in-the-box when I bought it last winter, and I sent it to John Will for conversion, also an outstanding job. I have 3 other locos that started as conventional but now have DCS, but what makes these locos a bit different is they are all Williams Crown Edition brass locos (SP Daylight GS-4, NYC Niagara, and a PRR K4s). These locos had no sound, and their stock Seuthe smoke units barely worked at all. The only feature was an operating headlight. I gave all 3 of these locos to John Will for conversion, and when he was through with them, it was like getting 3 brand-new locos. Converting any loco to command control requires a lot of skill, but it seems converting a non-MTH loco to DCS raises the bar. Mixing 2 different brands increases the level of difficulty, primarily due to the difference in gear ratios between Williams and MTH. In spite of that, John got the job done and these locos perform very well. It's hard to say which one is my favorite, but if forced to choose, it would be my Blue Comet. Here's a short video of the K4s. John WilliamsK4sConversion.mp4 (4.4 MB)

The new block for your reply, click on the movie link and copy your YouTube link in that.
