Photos are not final and are used to locate problems. Now is the time to correct them. Great idea - it seems photos narrow the focus enough to spot anything amiss. This is a great project you're accomplishing. I love that workbench - a really authentic touch. Speaking from experience I can imagine the heftiness of those wooden drawers. FW

Painted ten of the Model Tech items and redid some figures, then Paula and I planned to put them into the roundhouse. I got up from the painting table ready to go out and a rather ominous development asserted itself... right knee, which had been a problem, hurt like heck to walk on and didn’t get better with use. Paula called a halt to the plan to venture out to the train room.
So I called Rich, who also doubles as a retired orthopedic surgeon (and a really good one). He settled on the idea of something floating around in my knee as a result of Thursday morning’s workout with my personal trainer. I mentioned doing a bunch of squats and he was less than enamored, a whole lot less. Looks like a trip to see my knee doc is in order. Maybe a shot will work but, truth be told, it is in the shape that my left knee was last September when it was replaced. My goal of making it thru fishing season may be in jeopardy along with Spring, 2021 roundhouse completion.

Bill, I'm sorry about the knee. Having had the left one replaced myself, I am sure you can tell whether the shot will help. While on the subject of walking wounded layout builders, I am seeing the orthopedic surgeon again on Thursday to go over the latest MRI. The lowest couple discs on my back bulged 2 years ago damaging the sciatic nerves in my right leg. It has gotten worse so injections, pills, PT, and exercise don't help any more. Based on previous visits, I'm sure he is going to recommend surgery.
It has affected what projects I am doing on the layout. I posted above I started to work on some scenery. I was going to wire out my Z-stuff switch controllers, but it's too painful to get under the layout. We are blessed to have these surgeons and all they can do to give us a few more years of activity.

Made a trip to Home Depot and picked up some hardboard, gray primer, spray adhesive and some screws. Spent an hour on the layout, cut the board any laid everything out. Looking good so far - still more work and wiring to do.......... Layout ProgressSo, the gray primer - looks good for sidewalks and concrete. Did a quick rough up on the board and sprayed - its a bit light, but this will be good enough, after I etch in the gaps for the curbs and expansion joints with the dremel. Depending on how I wire this up I may need another 3V source for Spring/Summer. But the 1 hour I had was very productive, even mounted the ZW to the control board.

Mark I have three friends who have recently had back surgery. All are doing much better than before surgery. You will make the correct decision. We will pray for you too.

Yesterday painted more figures and put LEDs on an Arttista acetylene figure that has to be tested/installed today.
We are going to try out the right knee and, if okay, will complete as much of the interior as we can. Another 12 employees will be at work today and management wants them getting this place completed. The turntable contractor has politely inquired about a date when they can do their final inspection (he didn’t need to say get their retention $$$). The turntable is blocked with equipment and materials for the interior and front. Preassembling half the front at the site added to the mess.

Okay it isn't much but I'm waiting for them to come measure and then I will be able to order and once they actually put my carpet in, I will be able to start building again so I have the first 10' wide of 2" x 4" x 10' mounted to the wall, the rest of framing will come little by little

“It isn’t much.”
The heck it isn’t. It is only the most important board that you will have. Without the first, the last would never take place.
Save this picture.

This is your cornerstone. Everything needs to start somewhere. Exciting!
