I sure hope that you will let us all know the secrets to video skills. I still have to try what Andy suggested above to get pictures to stay right side up. I have to call my computer expert after Christmas and ask him to come over and work on photos/video, etc. I thought that ICloud was a third party hosting site but they must be the second party and no longer share with my computer, the former first party.
Oil/propane storage. That will be fun. In my other life, we insured a number of large petroleum jobbers. They were interesting accounts to handle. One owned a fleet of trucks that hauled petroleum products and liquid chemicals. At some point we want to devote some space to that business on our railroad.

Wood looking forward to your oil/propane storage build. Joe nice work. What are you using the Gorilla glue on? Over the weekend I layed down a few more sheets of foam. Unfortunately while testing clearance I ran my AC6000 into a portion of the foam and messed up one of the rails. Next project --- repair rail on AC6000.

I was going to use it on the ballast but found the Woodland Scenic scenic glue and used that instead.

Interesting day today. We are close to completing our “to do” list before beginning construction on level two. Goal is to be ready by 1/1/20. One major item that remains is installing two additional station platforms on the N and W station that Harry built. They are about three feet long and significantly increase the platform length. The second is completing the install of 31 turnouts. The 17 that are controlled by the MTH remote are complete. The remaining 14 are in the freight and passenger yards and are controlled by Touch Toggles, a product that we have not been able to find anyone else in O gauge using. They are installed and work perfectly with MTH DCS as the operating system. We used them all year until the last two weeks when we finally bit the bullet and converted 17 main line turnouts to DCS control using a remote, relays, etc. So far, so good. Touch Toggles work nicely with a control board. Mount a track diagram under glass, Lexan, etc, tape the Touch Toggles on the reverse of the diagram in the proper place, and you have a control board which is simple to construct and operate. BUT, turn on the Legacy system and the Touch Toggles go nuts. Some work, some freeze, and others simply switch back and forth. It is ugly, really ugly. Kevin Hunter who owns and sells the system and I have talked several times and discussed ideas about what to do. One was to install a ground rod thru the floor in the train room to have a dedicated ground. Okay, my electrician who also helps with the layout, had suggested that for other reasons, so we got it done. Took two hours. Rich Holden came over this afternoon and we tackled the two projects... Touch Toggles first. Electrical engineers haven’t solved this but a retired orthopedic surgeon and insurance agent are gonna do so... right. We checked one board with four toggles installed, DCS only. All worked. Turned on Legacy, two worked fair. The others, zilch. So we experimented around and finally, like Thomas Edison, we stumbled on a solution and, EVERYTHING WORKED. Then we tried it on the board with the remaining toggles. They all worked. Tomorrow I call Kevin and find out how to best handle the solution without using aluminum foil and pieces of wire. Then we can complete the Touch Toggles. Next was the passenger station platforms. We had done this before. We got one in place, screwed down, and trains successfully run on the two tracks. Still have to remove it and fit the roof section, then do the same thing again but we have a plan and know what to do. Sorry, no pictures. There is little to show except a bare platform with no top. Maybe I will go take a picture of that after I post this and edit it in later. If anyone reads this, please tell me how to turn off an engine using the Legacy controller. We don’t know how to do that or get the automatic crew and dispatcher sounds to play. But we can do relays with track power and turnouts, turnout installation, switch lanterns, track airbrushing, DCS hookup, ballasting, and structures including lighting, Benchwork, track laying, background hanging, room lighting and control, ( I am sure that we left out more). But we don’t know much about the using the trains part. This is a neat hobby. Kinda like owning and taking care of a 41 foot Viking sport fish... some of everything.

If anyone reads this, please tell me how to turn off an engine using the Legacy controller. I don't have the remote in front of me so I can't provide pictures. But first you select the engine (top right, ENG). That should change your keypad where you see ON/OFF icons on the bottom left of the keypad.

You are taking this to the next level. Very sophisticated install of electronic controls. I looked at the touch toggles this morning and was impressed with the concept. Not bad for an insurance salesman. Thank you so much for your continuous updates. It is enjoyable to read about your innovations and progress. I do agree, this is a neat hobby. So many different aspects to challenge the hobbyist. Just give the remote to one of your Grandkids and they will figure it out quickly.

“If anyone reads this, please tell me how to turn off an engine using the Legacy controller.”
toggle the speed button until you see a virtual button on the screen that is shaped like a stop sign. That will trigger the shut down sequence with appropriate sounds.

WOW, Bill, what an excellent report of what you are up to with your layout. Glad you worked the issues with your turnout controls out successfully.
The Roanoke Station platforms will really be special. You can certainly accomodate long passenger trains.

Thanks to each of you for the help on turning an engine off. Will try it after lunch.
Wood the Touch Toggles are very easy to install, work great with Tortoises, and make a control panel much easier to create. They worked perfectly with DCS. Hopefully the Legacy problem is solved.
We are about to the point where the yard control panels can be built. But that is an entirely new thing to learn. Rich Holden doesn’t know it yet but I plan to ask him to make these. He is smart, interested, and has a lot of talent.

What was the solution to the legacy problem? Where do you get the Touch Toggles?

Joesef - can you be more specific about which 12-19v LEDs you are using? I'd like to order some from EBay. If you can call up the seller evemodel_es He has them plus other items. Or try item number 221091215842 If neither work, let me know.
