DAVID, Yes I too ordered the PRR Class A from MR MUFFINS and in his e mail to me along with the pictures he is going to make it happen. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť.
here is his quote,
“To be candid, I don’t have enough orders to make it, but what the heck, I think we should go ahead and take the risk. I will keep you posted” Steve….

The Strohs is very colorful. Great addition if you collect reefers.

Between Berwyn's, Muffin, Roundhouse South, Stockyard and Pat's I'm going to be broke.

Between Berwyn's, Muffin, Roundhouse South, Stockyard and Pat's I'm going to be broke. Charlie, it's pretty scary how quickly these special-runs tally up to a several hundred dollars or more. That's one of the reasons these daily MTH announcements are brutal. And the MTH "consultants" are laughing all the way to the bank.

I worked on his trucks for a couple summers as a temporary summer helper during college. My 1st day on the job, we dropped over 100 kegs of Strohs at a music pavilion called Popular Creek. I remember it well as it was tough work for a thin and not so strong college kid like me!

I have Green Version of 4501 done by MTH several years ago accept this version has the added Whistle Smoke feature which was not available back then. This version also has the Spirit of Chattanooga written on the Cab. 4501 resides at Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in operating condition, painted in black as it was in revenue service for Southern Railroad but today it does not have the Spirit of Chattanooga written on it. It was painted in green when it was used by Southern Excursions and later restored back to black when the Museum ran it on their grounds and for NS 21st Century Steam Excursions.

This is good to know. Way back when, I got some really great K-Line special runs from Jeff, and an MTH DAP set of UP passenger cars. I didn’t know that he is still going, and them reefers look very appealing.

Good evening folks,
As a follow-up to my original post on this thread, here's the latest from Steve Nelson aka Mr. Muffin's Trains on his special-runs out of the new Lionel 2022 Catalog. He had a pretty ambitious plan for special-runs, and it's looking like these are the best bets that have made the short-list thus far. So start saving those pennies now!!!
Green light, moving forward... these will happen:
- B&A Berkshire
- PRR VisionLine Class A
- NKP 4-4-2
- Monon SW1
- Milwaukee SW1
- PRR RS27
Still need a few more orders to make these happen:
- SD40-2 Indiana Railroad
- SD40-2 Louisville & Nashville
- SD90MAC Indiana Railroad (Red)

Looks like the Mohawks are coming in next according to Muffin. Open up those wallets guys. .... I don't think any of those Mohawks are special-runs from Mr. Muffin's Trains... just regular catalog production. But he is offering an $80 weathering option (by Harry Hieke) for any of those Mohawks. Sounds like Harry is a busy guy these days. I've got my eye on the red/silver Pacemaker Mohawk, but I'm not gonna have it weathered.
Now as far as Mr. Muffin's special-runs go, it appears the VisionLine Class A Pennsy is a hit. According to Steve... of the 40 unit commitment required by Lionel for a locomotive special-run in 2022, he only has 4 unsold at this point. So there's certainly no shortage of peeps opening their wallets for big-ticket VisionLine goodies.
Another Mr. Muffin's special-run hit appears to be the Boston & Albany Berkshire steamer w/green boiler. At the time of Lionel's pre-order deadline, Steve asked Lionel to make 65 units.
