The Angus 0-8-8-0 (L-1) in blue Russian iron color is a really cool locomotive offering from MTH. I have the PS2 version first offered shortly after MTH’s venerable Erie Triplex steamer. MTH re-issued the L-1 again in 2011/2012 as a PS3 offering. So this is now the third iteration of this unique steamer.
They’re available from Pat’s Trains — but not exclusively. Per MTH’s announcement today, these will be generally available from MTH authorized dealers. ETA is March 2023. So MTH is alive and well with lots of great tooling still under its belt. And according to the MTH website features list, this version will have MTH’s rendition of whistle-steam which is quite good.

I would love to have one of those. Alas it just won't run on my layout. I did notice that the PS2 version said 054 curves. The PS3 version say's 072 . A misprint or did they change something...

TCA's Metropolitan Division (METCA) once again has come up with some unique rolling stock. One of the most recognized commemorative paint schemes on a Class 1 railroad was Union Pacific's Bush 4141 locomotive. You can now reserve a Lionel unibody tank car to compliment that engine and this tank car will work with your Lionel, MTH, etc. Bush 4141 loco's! More info here: metca.org/store.htmlAnd while you're there, don't miss the Air Force One and Spirit of Union Pacific tank car versions. The production quantities have already been set, so reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Another special run from Pats trains, a premier 100 ton hopper in the SF red & silver (plated) warbonnet scheme.
I bet the black bonnet will be next.

Another NYC 100 ton plated hopper from trainworld. DAVE I saw that announcement today, Dave. But I’m passing on that one. Can’t buy everything, and I just ordered two Santa Fe’s yesterday — with hopes some other “bonnets” (i.e., black, blue and yellow) will be offered in a future run. I know many folks don’t seem to mind MTH’s approach of daily announcements, but I’ve grown tired of them. It’s a royal PITA in terms of planning purchases. And there’s really no reason MTH can’t produce an online catalog vs. this daily announcement nonsense.

Your so right Dave, I passed on it also. Already have 6 of the plated hoppers coming. Mth could put out a 3 or 6 or more online catalog. This daily announcement was fun at the beginning but now it gets annoying.
