I’m alive, Works been crazy, Currently work 6 days a week, and given more responsibilities. Since March, here is what I’ve been able to get done in 3-Rail. 1. I’ve been able to go to 2 train sales and have been able to sell about 3k worth of trains from 5 collections. 2. My collection update. A) I got my first stimulus check at the end of March and spent half of it on a Railking ES44 and a Railking Dash 8 as you see in this photo. B) Recently I picked up 6 Lionel Standard O Reproduction cars. 2 Boxcars, 2 Center beams cars and 2 Bulkheads. I have a video of those as well. C) This coming Thursday comes 2 more new engines that I had no plans to buy until last Thursday. I have a PS2 GP30 that the sounds keep dying. In the 8 years I’ve had it, it has died around 20 times. I’ve spent more money fixing that damn engine that I could’ve bought two MTH Big Boys. After my run on Thursday at the Old Town Model Railroad Depot in Old Town San Diego, I finally had enough of this loco. It died after one lap around. I started looking around for a replacement Loco and I saw that Nicholas Smith trains had some Premier GP60ms, I picked up 2. I spent the rest of my stimulus and part of my CA stimulus. D) I keep adding to my collection of UP passenger cars. I think I might be done. Another Video as well, missing a Dome and Coach car. E) I got an LC+2.0 0-6-0t, Video as well. That’s my life right now, when the GP60s show up, I would like to do another switching video and a review. Thanks to Mr. Webb for checking in on me.

Tim glad to see you back and that you have been making progress despite the long hours at work.
Enjoyed the videos. It was nice to see the 611 leading off in one of them. Sounds as if the GP30 needs a coat of yellow paint and a journey fifteen miles west of you with burial in deep water.

Jenni and I stopped at an estate sale, I found a 637 with tender, pickle vat car, 2 gondolas and 2 flat cars and a lighted caboose.
Also a 494 beacon, gateman - the gateman was missing - a couple of crossing signals in need of repair and a 1037(?) transformer - looks like the remnants of a a Super O set. Dusty but looks to be in GREAT shape.
It also came with a lot of HO stuff, Atlas track and pier set, rolling stock, but alas, no motive power. $75 out da door, looks like a Super O set because the 637 seems to be a Super O set only. More research is in order and pictures later in the week.

A BIG thank you to Mario's Trains, for $90 SHIPPED I finally got my Polar Express Conductor announcement car, which will go with my conventional Polar Express set.
I have been chasing that for a few years and for $90, I snatched it up. Ebay $120-135 plus tax and shipping.....

Very nice find. Mario's, with coupons and free shipping, is hard to beat.
Ebay can be very expensive. My friend Steve just received a brand new WBB 4 car passenger set from Trainworld for $129 + shipping. The same cars are from $200-250 + shipping on Ebay.

I've noticed a few different cars I have been looking at are lower priced through dealers than eBay. Plus shipping is lower at times. win win

You can still find deals on eBay but you have to search for it and get lucky sometimes.
Most of the time dealers are your best bet or your LHS.

An older gentleman in town was selling a variety of items that his wife collected. Apparently she was a big model train enthusiast. He was letting items go for a good price but wanted to make sure they went to a good home and got a new life. I explained how I loved to refurbish old engines and would enjoy whatever he would sell me. Well, I went home with a 2-6-4 loco (circa 1950s), some vintage hopper cars, two cabooses (one lighted), and a handle full of accessories. All of those of course were in fair to rough shape, which is good by me because bringing them back to life is part of the fun. After we agreed on a price for those items, he pulled this out. This coal loader seems to be like new condition. Not a spot of rust. Can’t wait to inspect it and give it a test run. Already have a spot picked out for it.
