From My Brooklin Collection... Post #028As I discovered the wide array of models that Brooklin offered, I was drawn to so many of the 30s models in their catalog. When I held and examined these models, I was even more drawn to the intricate style and the fine craftmanship that Brooklin achieved with each one. My list of wants grew quite rapidly as I learned of all the models they offered. When I 1st saw the photos of Brooklin's 1937 Lincoln Model K, I knew these were going to move to the top of my list. I have long been a fan of the style of these large Lincolns and from the photos this looked like a wonderful model. The 1st one to join my collection was the LeBaron Convertible Sedan (more on that later) the 2nd was the Touring Sedan in Evergreen Poly (also more on that later too) The more elusive of these '37 Lincolns was the Touring Sedan in Royal Maroon, I tried several times to acquire it, but it just didn't work out. Finally, just a few weeks ago, I came across one at an online retailer and for less than the original retail-it was my lucky day. With the purchase made, I waited patiently (well maybe not too patiently) for it to arrive. When it did, it was a very beautiful model in a perfect color for the rounded, graceful lines of these big Lincolns. With this Model K, I now have five of them in my collection. The four standard releases and a very special one crafted by John Roberts (more on that later as well) 1937 Lincoln Model K 7-Passenger Touring Sedan - BRK 141a ...the 526th Brooklin model to join my collection.

Love white cars (we drive a white GMC), so this is an excellent choice for me, John.

From My Brooklin Collection... Post #029 & #30Early into discovering all that was offered from Brooklin, I found a really nice example of a 1947 Ford Deluxe Wood-Bodied Wagon, BRK 83. The 1st example I came across was a blue-gray color-now that color really did nothing for me. When I had discovered the 40th Anniversary 1960 Impala, I found a Ford wagon in the same series and in the same Ruby Red. Well as with all the other models I wanted, it got added to the my wish list. Now the Impala was the 5th Brooklin model added to my collection, the Ford came several months later as funds became available-isn't that the way it always works for us collector's? When it arrived, I was quite surprised to see how well Brooklin had captured the look of the wood panels on this model. This was the 2nd simulated wood-bodied wagon from Brooklin that I added to my collection, 1940 Buick being the 1st (more on that coming up) I have quite a few wood-bodied models from the Danbury Mint in 1:24 scale, with those having genuine wood panels and trim-I was very impressed in the way Brooklin captured that same look with these little marvels. This one in Ruby Red was the 1st, followed by the same model in green a couple years later. The 3rd example of this beauty was the blue-gray version I had seen first, although it was detailed and modified from it's original release and is featured in the 2nd half of this post. I also added two 1948 versions that Brooklin issued, this model definitely fascinates me. 1947 Ford V-8 Deluxe Wood-Bodied Station Wagon, BRK 83x ...the 45th Brooklin model to join my collection. 1947 Ford V-8 Deluxe Wood-Bodied Station Wagon, BRK 83 (modified & detailed) ...the 478th Brooklin model to join my collection.

From My Brooklin Collection... Post #031When I started collecting Brooklin models, some of the 1st ones I found incredibly interesting were the '54 Hudson models. The Hudson brand has always fascinated me and these little gems from Brooklin looked to be "spot on" The first one I added was the '54 Convertible in red (which I have already featured) the 2nd '54 I was interested in was this one pictured here, unfortunately I could not locate one at the time, especially since it had already been discontinued by Brooklin. I settled for the sedan in two-tone green (more on that later) Now when I say settled, I didn't really mean that because that model is exceptional as well, it just doesn't have the "POP" of this Roman Bronze/Black version. When I was finally able to secure one two years later, I was not disappointed as this model is excellent in every way. Brooklin captured the look of the Hudson 1:1 perfectly.1954 Hudson Hornet Sedan - BRK 174x ...the 159th Brooklin model to join my collection.

From My Brooklin Collection... Post #033 & #034
Sorry I missed the AM part of day, LOL! I said in my previous post from yesterday, I love '47 Cadillac. The style of elegance of this year is among Cadillac's best, my opinion of course. I have quite a few '47 Cadillac models in my collection, several are from Brooklin, and more from a few other manufacturers. These two are repaints of Brooklin's '47 convertible coupe. I was surfin' eBay as I do from time to time and came across these beauties. They were both at an incredible price, one I could not pass up. Now I have learned that you don't always come away with a good deal from eBay, photos can be deceiving. That was not the case with these two gems. They are both simply outstanding in their red & blue coats. Now I have posted these a month or so ago, but not here as part of this series. When I posted them before, John Roberts recognized them. He figures that these could very well be his-they are not marked. If that is the case, then these are even more special, but if not, they are both exceptional models and wonderful additions to my Brooklin Collection as well as my '47 Cadillac sub-set. 1947 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupes - BRK 74x ...the 506th & 507th Brooklin models to join my collection.

From My Brooklin Collection... Post #035It has been a few weeks since I last posted to my Brooklin Collection file, I have been way too busy. Sorry about that. The post for today is another modified Brooklin model I found while searching on eBay. The 1941 Pontiac models offered by Brooklin are some of their best. In their catalog they offer a Sedan Coupe, a Sedan in two different colors and a wagon. The wagon is the subject of today's entry. I loved the Wood-Bodied Wagon Brooklin issued in 2016. The Paddock Gray body w/the simulated wood panels & trim is perfect. So when I came across this version that was repainted in Parma Wine, I had to have it. Overall the model is well done and arrived almost perfect. It does have a couple of minor paint imperfections that are barely visible and it is missing the windshield wipers. A quick email to Brooklin will set that right, so for a few more $$ than the original issue. I have a very nice variation of a wonderful Pontiac model. 1941 Pontiac Deluxe Custom Torpedo Wood-Bodied Station Wagon - BML 003x ...the 495th Brooklin model to join my collection.

Blue is a very nice color for this Packard. It’s subtle.
