I installed the crown (the cement part on top), and the flue on top of the chimney, and then glued it to the building. I hit it with some black weathering powder to give it a little more of a grimy look. Andy

Joe, Brian, thanks for the kind words. I repainted the roof tonight, hopefully it’ll be ready tomorrow. After that I’m focusing on the detail work. I finished the sink and toilet. I’ll post them too. Thanks Gary! 😁

Here are a few detail items for the section shanty. I painted the stove a flat black and I might hit it with some black weathering powder to knock down any sheen. I painted the sink and toilet with a gloss white, but the weathering powder gives it the right amount of grime. I also added a rust streak in the sink for good measure. The water supply to the building isn’t so good . And I have a couple of beat up tool boxes to go with it. Maybe I’ll work on the tools this weekend. There’s also a desk and chair that will go in there too. Andy Those detail pieces are fantastic. It's the little details that make the greatest scenes, in my opinion. Emile

Excellent work on the details, Andy. The rust stain in the sink is perfect.

Andy that building reminds me of my barracks from when I was at Fort Jackson SC. Minus the wood burning stove of course. Looks great so far. Are you planning dim lighting or a flickering fire?

Love the accessories.
Can’t say much for your division of duties. Obviously nobody was assigned the bathroom cleaning detail. 😄🙄

Thanks Emile. I’ve seen other members work here, and the details make the difference. Thanks Joe, I thought the rust would add some realism. Thank you Gary! RJ, I do plan on having some lighting in the building, but not for the stove. Bill, in all fairness to the cleaning crew, this building sits right between the main and branch lines, and it’s grimy inside and out 😁
