That's great Oace - I trust it will have pride of place somewhere on your layout.

That's great Oace - I trust it will have pride of place somewhere on your layout. Thanks af3020 ! Indeed - by presenting all your nice-to-cute buildings - you have some responsibilities in the affair... My layouts are more than temporary... So putting more building would be a problem ! Oh, I saw those other ones... From PAYA (España) : www.ebay.fr/itm/126564004826From BING (Deutschland) : www.ebay.fr/itm/204925908667From Hornby (UK) : www.ebay.fr/itm/204926135341 OACE

I don't see where putting more buildings would be a problem. Based on your picture of the Bedroom County Layout it is obvious that, like me, you are a member in good standing of the Broadloom Conspiracy (people who run trains on the floor rugs in the house). As you can see - there's no problem with adding buildings to railroads of this nature.

Oace, I too have a CFO (Chief Floor Officer) who has the final say on the duration of my latest resurrection of the Ophir and Oblivion RR. She will usually permit 3-4 weeks running time on the living room rug once a year - as you can see from the above, even with that time frame you can get a lot up an running.

So again you are giving me reasons to enhance my collection, @af30210 ! Anyway, yours is simply amazing in beauty, taste and diversity - even and furthemore if it is for a temporary layout... I also have a Second Chief Floor Officer... You can see her on the video below, at right : Mrs. Tibou (a 20 years-old Lady Cat) is OK to let me use her personal room for my layout, provided that when the train runs, I pet her... ----- Just for the occasion - Guys ! - I would like your advice... On the video above, you notice that at the end of the turn, the train slows down, because the locomotive wheels slips on the track (observe engine rods vs. cars speed) - on my brand new Menards O gauge rails, which I strongly suspect to be film-covered with grease or wax, in order to avoid oxydation for storage before selling...The IVES #1694 slips but it's not the sole nor the worse : Lady Patricia and her complete train needs to be pushed locally, otherwise she stops with wheels turning ! I already discovered and fronted this ugly slipping issue, when I experimented my outdoor temporary layout... GRRRR ! I plan to clean the upper surface of these brand new rails by wiping it with "Gasoline F", "dearomatized Petrol", or "Tricholrethylene substitute", which are all used as steel and metal degreasers / cleaners... I don't remember having had this issue with old 2nd hand tracks from Hornby (UK) Lionel, MTH, K-Line (USA) or JEP (France), even if it was 20 years ago... What do you think Guys ? Am I missing / misunderstanding something here ? OACE

Yes, I would try giving it a good clean with denatured alcohol or, better yet, some Rail-Zip if you can find it. I am surprised you're getting that much wheel slippage.

Well, I can also test also with denatured alcohol - we call it in France Alcool à brûler - but it maybe not enough ? I'll see... And that's true : I'm also very surprised by this excessive, crippling wheel slippage, even when running flat... Moreover when I see these layout below, using LIONEL trestles, providing short turns and very steep ramps to climb for the trains, I'm puzzled : OK, I know that LIONEL locomotives have MagneTraction - which helps of course - but it doesn't do it all, for sure ! And I think that I'm quite far from such situations. @healey 36 : what you call "Rail-Zip" is it this product ? robart.com/products/1-oz-28-4ml-rail-zip-track-cleaner-btlOACE

Yup, Magnetraction is the key for steep trestle climbing!
Yes, that's the stuff, although my bottle is years old, so the labeling is a bit different.

The new station looks great, Oace, especially lit up. Any scenery, even only a building or two, makes running trains more fun.

Well, there's no manufacturer name on it. Why not ? Here are the pictures of an original : If mine is a copy, at least it's very well imitated... OACE

The "expert" was right (I am always suspicious about "experts" on the web ) : below I found the exact model built by PAYA in Spain, reputedly from the 30s to the 60s ! Not Germany, but Spain, then ! OACE
