Well it ain't much but it's what I have to work with... the living room in my new apartment is rather oddly shaped which didn't leave much room for the layout I was loosely planning in my head, but I'm making a go of it. Since storage space is at a premium in this unit, I decided against bringing my normal village items home from their storage room at the theater and instead am utilizing my Department 56 Harry Potter village that was already here. I did end up putting lights under the snow as I do at the theater and am considering adding a raised section for the Hogwarts Castle to break up the flatness. I ordered the last few items from the collection that I don't yet have so those should be here next week so I can finalize building placement and fill out the space somewhat. At the very least it's a place to run trains with an out of shape O-36 loop on the inside and barely an O-72 oval on the outside for my bigger locomotives. The tree was an impulse buy at Home Depot a couple weeks back as it was deeply discounted for a pre-Black Friday sale. Not bad for under $100 considering it's an LED pre-lit tree that has both white and colored light options. The star and glass finial at the top are my tribute to the movie "A Christmas Story". The glass finial is similar to the one in the movie and the star is a vintage stamped metal piece from Noma that I bought on eBay that's nearly identical to the one in the movie. It might be a little bit crooked...

Jake, the tree and layout look great. The lights under the snow look very good.
