Hope everyone is ok with me starting a thread on my current and hopefully final layout build. CDNF - Can't Decide Never Finished
Special thanks go out to Emile! He came up with the design for my layout logo. Which is also my profile picture. I have a lighted Direct TV sign that I'm working to get redone with the logo. Andra and I spent a few weeks trying to come up with the name for the new layout build. Well mostly me but she had input. Somehow with us talking about my indecision and it never getting finished the name came to be. "Final layout" - I know famous last words. There are things I already miss from my last build which was called Longdog RR(that wasn't finished! lol). Named for our three Dachshunds. I'll try to put some pics of the old build and go into the new build. Hopefully I can find pictures of the traincave transformation as well. The first layout in the traincave was actually a large loop on the floor. So technically this is the third build in the traincave.
I run Legacy system using 2 MTH z1000 controllers. I have a Lionel KW transformer that will control a third loop if I install one. My plan is to power the switches and accessories through the KW. Gargraves track and Ross Custom switches. 042 curves on the inner loop and 054 curves on the outer loop.
As I post up progress I look forward to hearing ideas of how I could build out or improve on what I have done.

Looking forward to those updates. "Never finished" is the model railroaders chant. Good luck.

Layout build threads are some of the best on the OGF. Everyone looks forward to seeing your progress. Good luck as you start your build.

I look forward to following your build, RJ. Layout build threads are great fun. I find it very interesting following along as a layout comes to life.😊

A couple extra pictures. Andra made the cake for my 50th. The tattoo was done by my son.
I removed the elevated third loop and closed the hole going through the mountain.
I used a heat gun to burn the stream in that is running under the trestle bridge.

Not sure why a few of the pics didn't transfer correctly? There were a few that were completely blank but I believe there are enough to show what was done. The next load of pictures are of the tear down.

I removed the vinyl tiles and found the floor was coated with black mastic. What a joy to remove! The next set of pictures are of current build. It seems I'm not much of a photographer! I'll try to get better about getting pictures of progress.
After all the black mastic was removed. I painted the walls and floor. Curtains were added to the windows some where along the way.

A bonus picture of me and Andra from a few years ago. I'll check my tablet later for pictures.

I am fairly precise on my train and home projects. I also take extra care when doing phone repairs at work. I'm a clunky guy when it comes to taking pictures. I guess if I was building in a better room I'd probably document better. You can check out my YouTube channel for videos of the last build. Direct link is in my signature.
