Looks very promising, Marty. And I think the wood-stove gives the room a cozy look already. Definitely looking forward to watching the progress unfold! The wood stove is awesome but does present some issues of its own. Like don't park any plastic rolling stock over there. LOL!

My daughter yesterday says, "Why don't you put the trains in the living room and we can use the basement". Ummmmm, NO!That beats what I fear hearing, which is, "Why don't you put the trains back in their boxes and we can use the living room." Of course, it's never been said and I am put up with by other resident(s) very nobly.

Small update... Still working on the ceiling and will be through the new year but a small platform is going up to keep me busy. Hopefully will have a O72, O60, and O36 loops.

All of this wood is left over from the layout I had while staying with my father. That was 4 years ago and trying to reassemble it was quite a chore. I have cut it down a bit to to allow for smaller kids to see while it's only temporary. The new more permanent layout will be multi-level.

"A 9x8 temporary table"
At the very least, you get to run some trains and that's all good.

Trains by Christmas? You are making good progress. Your daughter may get excited when she sees some track appear.
