The room looks great Marty. To me there is no such thing as a room too nice for a layout but to my wife.... I will also be following your progress and will enjoy seeing your layout come to life.

I'm also looking forward to his progress, I do see a new layout for me in the future, that is a great thing about joining this forum is getting great ideas. Everyone has a unique way of modeling. A lot of talent I have seen on this forum, great to be a part of the OGF.

Marty that is great news about the water pipe! Because it broke before you built the layout! My luck would be the opposite. Nothing more exciting than starting a new layout. Keep us posted.

.....My only fear is the space will be so nice I may not want to put a layout in it. LOL! That never really happens Marty! Once you get going with the build the room won't matter. Nice work finishing off the room and have fun building! A broken water pipe happened to a friend of mine just after he built his benchwork. It was to be his first layout. Once all the wood got soaked it basically took him out of the hobby. At least the trains were safe on a high shelf in a closet.

Great, congrats.
IMHO, the dreaming/design phase is exhilarating and only rivaled by the running phase.
Don’t rush it...over several weeks or a few months you may have a completely different layout configuration, as new ideas and solutions occur to you,

My daughter yesterday says, "Why don't you put the trains in the living room and we can use the basement".
Ummmmm, NO!

Looks very promising, Marty. And I think the wood-stove gives the room a cozy look already. Definitely looking forward to watching the progress unfold!
