Guess what? I have been banned by OGR FOR THE SAME POST I posted here about York. I did not even mentioned covid19. Looks like I'll be spending more time here. Dave Yep Dave, Join the ranks. I was even threatened and harassed for money. I had to hire a lawyer to determine next steps. Best thing is to walk away... there is no value add from it.

As this continues I'm starting to wonder about the health side affects associated with isolation and lack of socialization. Before you shout and say I'm not taking the virus seriously that's not at all what I'm saying. I am saying that there are mental health issues caused from isolation and lack of socialization. I hope that the measures being taken by our government look at the forest instead of individual trees.

Oddly, my VA bulletins that come through every couple of weeks....couple of issues back, the VA was interviewed about hospitalizations and such with COVID. Emergency room visits down 84% or so. Heart attacks down 58% or so. Strokes down 47% or so (those numbers are rough for discussion purposes. It would take me hours to find exact numbers). Broken bones and burns are up. Overall (and this is VA) suicides are up noticeably. How does lockdown reduce heart attacks and strokes?
Very strange.

no stress from work, no rush hour traffic, spending more time with family/exercise/hobbies eating better foods, less pollution... kind of makes sense?

No Eddie, not removed. It had not been updated recently, so it no longer was meaningful. I just removed the "sticky".
I did notice that you deleted your York Meet Countdown thread at the other forum with this comment:
"Joe, I delited the countdown, it was getting crazy. I will start it again when there are 99 days to go."
So, when our thread had not been updated with the correct information, I assumed it was pretty much DOA.
If you want to update our thread with the correct information, I will make it a "sticky: again. Make sense?

So what is the most effective machine in killing off a virus? Is it not the human body?
Isn't this virus killed by UV rays? So why are we hiding indoors?
I understand this virus is more deadly than most, but is there not the same risk (maybe reduced) that I can die with I receive the vaccine?
How do I not know that I have had it and the antigens are already in my body? Especially since the current testing is not 100%?
Don't Know.
so why is York banned when I am allowed to march on the Capital with thousands to protest against a organization that has protected you and I for years?
Don't know...
All I know is I am following the mask procedures to protect me and others, and I will not watch the propaganda which is just spreading fear and blaming the President.
What I do know is all this will be resolved after the election year is over... which is just plain sad.

I asked myself should I or should I not add just personal things on the things I know and what 3 nurses have told me and a hospital worker has said at last weeks competition meet, also what some have written in our HOA private page. Florida is a hot spot we're told, yet the nurses and hospital worker from 2 different hospital have told us that there are only 7 patients in Hospital, only one in intensive care. Several workers from a Sports Bar that tested positive and want to get back to work for the carry out service provided, have said they went to 3 different places in one day and will continue to go seek other places during week until they get a negative result. So, are they each counted 3 times if they turn up positive at all 3 places which adds numbers upward? If so, are more doing this also? We have an older Cuban couple in our sub division that get tested weekly, 1st week they said it came back positive after 8 days waiting. They re-tested, result negative. Last week they tested again, today they called wife and said hers were positive his was negative. I have no opinion except wondering how accurate these tests really are and why there isn't an increase in my area of people in the hospital and ICU and deaths then when this epidemic first started. I have no answers, just wear my mask and wonder.

Testing is great, but it is only good for one moment in time. The result could change the next hour, the next day, etc.

I am hoping things get better before October's York Meet. If the event is on, our plan is to be there for the whole week. But a couple of factors may cause me to decide to stay home.
#1 would be if the virus is still on a rampage. My family and I are all healthy so far and I'm not going to tempt fate. I love York and all the trains, but I don't want to die for them. Can't play with them when you're dead!
#2 would be if the Meet is open, but a lot of vendors do not attend. It would be great and fun to see all my friends and vendors, but a truncated Meet means there's still fear out there or the virus is still an issue. See reason #1.
#3 would be the hotel and transportation system. Airplanes are flying petrie dishes during the best of times. Just about all of the few illnesses I've had in the last 20 years has come after flying, but none in the last five years due to bringing my own sanitizing wipes and cleaning my seat area myself.
Overall it would be really tempting to go if it's held. I get to visit with my daughter and maybe, this year, catch a Flyers Hockey playoff game and not to mention all my friends and the trains! But those things happen during normal health circumstances.

One of those stories I would like to hear Joe, you and I and the group have lots to share at the Olive Garden over a few beers... I cannot wait.
