The Zephyr exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry is currently undergoing a update. These pictures are from a few years ago. Burlington 9900 (Pioneer Zephyr) The train (complete) is now totally underground on permanent display. The windows were covered in a rear projection material so from the inside it looked like you were looking outside ridding the rails. (Sorry if that does not make sense), but it was a nice effect. While the unit has been polished, it is the original skin. So as delivered, it was very shinny. Charlie Attachments:

Tom, is that the new Siemens Charger in the center photo, second row down? I can’t quite tell. 🤔 I wish..lol. Actually it is. PL42AC, produced by Alstom/GM/EMD. It is basically an EMD prime mover with updated air brakes and control system...computers. They were rushed into production in 2003 to beat the new environmental pollution rules that were on the horizon, and it shows. Many flaws that were just ignored when they were designed. They are very common on NJT, but not well liked. The cabs have poor visibility and are dependent on a poorly designed air conditioning system to keep them properly heated or cooled. Many, many shortcomings that the users are forced to compensate for. The car body was designed by some famous industrial designer, but they are just a pain to run and maintain. The old GP40s, they replaced, were a much better design, but they were approaching 40+ years in age... Tom Wow, so definitely not a new Charger then. Thank you for the information.

A friend of mine has the Lionel prewar model and it is a sight to see it run.

For sight (in the silver stakes) and sound, it's impossible to top the TMCC Burlington Zephyr (plated die cast), which is pretty faithful to the one preserved in the Museum of Science and Industry. I won't try. But I have always had Warbonnet diesels and they have a lot of silver. This AC6000 (a fantasy scheme) gets as much if not more run time than anything I have: Here it is along with some silver rolling stock and in the foreground my newest Christmas ornament, a tiny Hallmark Warbonnet F3:

Hopefully, Wood will post that wide, bottom photo from his thread yesterday featuring his newest set of Lionel Santa Fe passenger cars. With two SF Super Chief trains now, there’s a lot of silver on his layout. Plus, it’s a beautiful photo. OK, here you go Vern. Panoramic view of the Super Chiefs. I have to practice a little more on these Panoramic views, but it is still pretty nice.
