I have done a great deal of work lately improving the density factor on the city streets and parking spaces. I had a chance to reflect on a question as to what make I prefer to have on the layout. Mind you, we primarily model in the 50's, so that has a huge influence of my opinion. Just the count of what I have accumulated over the past several years says it all. And, apparently my taste for a particular model has not changed either. The Oldsmobile's wins out followed fairly closely by Buicks. How about you. What make is your favorite for your layouts? Here is an example of a couple of ours. 1957 Oldsmobile Fiesta Station Wagon 1935 Buick Century (looks a lot like the Studebaker that was the Best in Show)

I didn't count the vehicles on my layout but I know I have quite a few Cadillacs and Chevrolets. Based just on looks it's hard to beat a Chevy Bel Air.

Does General Motors Coach Division count? I like Corgi's die cast vehicles and they did a great job of Greyhound's Scenicruiser from 1961.

But how about a photo? 😉 Guys, I don’t mean to be a spoilsport here. But whenever a forum member introduces a new thread about a favorite something on our layouts, how about a photo or two to go with it? It helps the rest of us actually see what you’re talking about. 🤔

Very true, pictures tell the full story. Here is my red Ford pickup, my favorite car on the layout. We grew up with Fords, but also had a Buick and other brands along the way. I’m relatively new to adding vehicles but already have some Ford, Chevies and VWs. Attachments:

The most popular was a bowl and cup with Davy Crockett logos on it, which I still have.

Awesome josef! When I was in first grade, our family car was a ‘55 Olds and my teacher had a ‘56 Ford that she’d obtained with Ford’s “A ‘56 for $56” financing plan, meaning a ‘56 Ford for $56 a month, as you’d previously stated.
