With the covid-19 crisis, what members are now working from home, or have been temporarily placed on leave/laid off? Also, who works in an environment that has been classified as "essential"?
Have any of our members received word about going back to work with the partial reopening of our country?
For us, we are retired, so the impact has just been minimal in terms of very limited trips out for neccesaties only.

Same with me. Retired, so no economic effect. But we are enjoying the uncrowded roads any time of day and how much easier it is go get around. But of course it won't last and we're anxious for this era of living in the Twighlight Zone to end.

Retired. Most workers I know are still home. Our dictator has loosened up some but many are still out of work. SOAPBOX issue. You can get an abortion here but if you need a hip or have a tumor growing inside you. its still on hold.

I have been off 6 weeks on furlough. Big 3 wanting to start up in 2.5 weeks. So I hope i will go back to work then. And I am ready to go back to work so I can start getting some supplies for layout.

The last day I had meetings with clients in my office was March 16. Since then, I've been working exclusively at home. Thankfully, I haven't skipped a beat, due to the advanced technology of video conferencing / email signatures etc. Just like DCS and TMCC, that technology definitely has its quirks, but all things considered, it works pretty well. Even though insurance businesses are deemed "essential" in our state, I've chosen to stay home and complete all tasks here, and it has worked. The building where my office is located is closed to public traffic, so there's not much I can do about it anyway.
One benefit to working at home: I can break away to do yard work, work on the trains, our sailboat etc. in between calls. Our yard is now free of the mess left behind from winter, I'm making progress on the layout, and the re-painting of our 16-foot sailboat is almost done.
Wishing all of you safety and good health during this time...…...
John

Our Law Firm is considered Essential in Maryland. All State Courts are closed until June 7 except for emergency situations. We are mostly handling Real Estate, Health Care and Estate Planning issues during the shut-down. All of our people are working from home and 5 critical staff are in-office daily from 11-3 in separate individual offices between 2 buildings. We have very little in-person client contact. We expect to remain in this format at least until the beginning of June.

I'm working, and glad I'm lucky enough to get up in the AM and actually drive to work. Lead Tech in a Avionics shop. Just me and one of my techs left, as all the others have been furloughed. We need to wear masks, social distance, wash hands repeatedly, the standard stuff.
Work coming in is way down to almost nothing. I have enough coming in and left over to keep me busy (I hope) but with 70% of flights grounded there's not much need for aircraft repair/maintenance.
Speaking of driving into work, the lack of traffic while nice is very eerie, I can't wait to get back to normal.

I am on vacation this week.
My normal work schedule was cut back from 9 1/2 hours to 3 hours a day.
They cut two trains out of our normal seven, so that leaves us with five trains to service. The big difference is that they all arrive at the yard about the same time instead over a period of eight hours, as was normal.
At the moment, the railroad has left the jobs intact, paying their normal rate, so money isn’t a problem.
Besides moving trains around the yard, I picked up the task of sanitizing the locomotive cabs. When we have the engine on the fuel pit, it is serviced by a laborer and a machinist. The laborer is supposed to clean the cabs, but he is pretty lazy. I spray this nasty stuff called “Virex” all over then wipe down everything with a shop rag.
Hopefully I have inhaled enough anti viral spray to be immune to any thing...lol

Working from home. We are the essential crew solving next steps problem resolution for vehicle builds. Plan is to work with the local Governments to receive the green light when the essential groups can start... target date was May 4th but that has slipped back to possibly end of May. Tough to tell, because each state and Country is not aligned with one plan. Hours are longer but the drive home is a snap! Making breakfasts, lunches and dinners for the wee folk adds time and I have to start my vehicle once every two weeks just to make sure the battery does not die.

My job is deemed essential so I've been workng through it - kinda. Thankfully I work for a great company. There are two of us in the upstairs area. I have a very large office/work area and my co-worker has a separate small office. They did not want both of us at work at the same time so we work every other day. They did something similar for all our cellular locations. The schedule this week was different for the two of us. To make time off even I worked Monday and will be working Friday. The best part is getting paid by the company for time off. Our sister companies have been working full time through the crisis. I have been getting quite a bit of house work and a little train work done on my off days.
On the days I work I need to sanitize everything as soon as I get to my office. After that it is hand sanitizer after working on the phones or messing with deliveries.

I've been living as I usually do. I work in the Port of NJ and NY so we have to load and unload the container ships. Work has been 6 - 7 days a week. I do consider myself blessed because I am still working.

Retired but with so many things we have come up with in fixing, replacing, or upgrading, a lot of trips to Lowes or Home Depot. Good to see so little traffic also. Gasoline is 1.29 gal. Spending a lot of time with trains and getting costume and script ready for next years train show.
