Last week I started the Favorite Caboose thread and thought it would be fun to make "Favorite's" a weekly thing. This week, lets share our favorite layout buildings. Buildings make our layouts more realistic and allows us to transform our empires into whatever we want them to be. In the virtual layout tours we have seen some absolutely fabulous buildings. My building collection is rather modest compared to most, but I do have a favorite. This recent addition of Pollock Joe's Pierogi shop is at the top of my list. Pierogi are my favorite traditional Polish food and could subsist on them exclusively if permitted. Which buildings are your favorites and why?

Banff Springs Hotel. This building is made out of the 1960s American Skyline kits, made by Elgo. I was able to get multiple kits from eBay. It is my favorite because I spent a year building, it filled a space on my layout perfectly and it is an historically accurate Grand Railroad Hotel built in 1888 by the Canadian Pacific Railroad. It is an eye catcher and my guests are always drawn close up to view.

In a tribute to Andre, I've got another one of my favorites to share. This is Railroad Ave property next to the Englewood train Station.

Favorite building? Of course the Wallet Building created by Andre. Which is a duplicate of the building my mom owned and operated "The Gathering Place" Restaurant. Thanks again Andre. That's my mom seated at far left.

Very difficult question to answer as I have so many that I really like, but the top of the list has to be the Department 56 Empire State Building. The details are just beautiful and it is very realistic.

Brian, that is a stunning replica for sure. I love the light spire, very cool.
