Hey Adam and thanks for the information. I had to do a little digging since I asked about the figures in 3D. I have sitting in front of me several Arttista figures and the biggest difference is that there is a "very" little face detail compared to your samples. Most of the detail is really painted on, so, it seems the current hobbyist level of 3D printing is actually pretty close. I think this subject is getting a lot of attention because as a group, we are starting to model more and more specific scenes and the current availability of figures just don't have the detail/poses that we want or need. So, in my case, more important then face detail, is pose and general look of the figure, I can (with great effort) add the face detail with paint and shadow. With that said, with all the projects I have lined up, the quality of the printers will probably change for the better by the time I actually get to work on the scene I am needing the figures for. Above is the general idea of the area of a building project that I want to use the figures. The face detail, while can be seen, is not as important as the stance/pose and quantity of figures to reproduce the scene. Thanks for all your in site on this subject. Sincerely: Charlie

I've got two of my test models painted. I will work on facial features next. I hope I don't go cross-eyed doing that! Still a bit of touch up to do. Painting is certainly my weakest of modeling skills.

Painting is certainly my weakest of modeling skills. Just a suggestion, I've done this. Try a Black wash on figures. It brings out details in clothing and facial also that you may not realize are there till afterwards. It also helps flatten the color to look more natural. I even do this to Artista and woodland figures.
