So far, I have only found Visionline J1e Hudson custom runs being offered by Mr. Muffins, who has three. I check Legacy Station and Trainworld, two other dealers that frequently offer big ticket Lionel custom runs but so far neither are not offering any Visionline J1e Hudson custom runs this time although Trainworld was rumored to be considering one (Halloween?). The METCA custom run seems to have quietly died on the drawing board.
Here are the J1e Hudson custom runs for Mr. Muffin:
-Lionel 25313BA - Vision Line J1e Hudson Steam Locomotive "Boston & Albany" #618
-Lionel 25313PLE - Vision Line J1e Hudson Steam Locomotive "Pittsburgh & Lake Erie" #8402
-Lionel 25313GR - Vision Line J1e Hudson Steam Locomotive "New York Central" #2728
Are there any others out there that I have missed?

Not that I have seen.
As for METCA, I suggest a watchful waiting strategy as their wheels of progress grind more slowly it seems as befits a volunteer organization. A case in point, a reliable source indicates that the Halloween A 5 and NH&I Consolidation are both sold out but appear as available for sale on the METCA website. The volunteer who is charged with METCA web site duties has not had the time to delete these items. And so it goes with all volunteer groups.
That and it takes two to tango. No custom run occurs until the importer signs off. While METCA may have done their part, if Atlas/Lionel/MTH don't get back to you what are you to do? Nothing but wait.
It may be dicey as one is trying to decide which version to buy as preorder deadlines and limited quantities loom with the possibility of a more desired version being offered elsewhere after you placed your order.
As Dirty Harry said; 'How lucky do you feel'? Fortunately I have no skin in this game.

Anything but Nrw York Central. The TBH one is a possibility but only because it’s not NYC and it’s not a common Railroad. But let’s see something different.

The METCA custom run seems to have quietly died on the drawing board. Not sure why it would seem like that. Just the opposite is true. It's very much alive on the drawing board. When the right number of pieces are in place, it will be announced. Stu

These engines are not cheap and to place an order elsewhere only to find that another later offering fits your needs more somewhere else means the loss of a deposit or incurring the ire of the dealer who loses a sale. We live in the era of the mean streets of collecting. BTO our SOL you decide!

One of the next big-ticket items due in will be the H7's. And Patrick's Trains, The Train Loft, and Brady's Train Outlet have custom-runs of that model. But none of those dealers announced a custom-run for the Vision Hudson. Pat's Trains "floated" a Black Bonnet Vision Hudson... but it was conditional upon getting 30 orders on the books. Not sure if he's there yet.
Charles Ro did announce Nov 22nd as their "early buy" deadline for the standard Vision Hudsons featured in Lionel's 125th Anniversary announcement brochure. So we'll see if any other dealer(s) make a firm custom-run announcement by then.

Heck at this point I would take a Space Force Hudson from Legacy Station!

Pat's Trains has adjusted his minimum number of pre-orders DOWN to 20 in order to move forward with the Black Bonnet Hudson, instead of the initially announced 30 unit requirement. According to today's email blast, he hasn't hit the 20-mark yet... which is halfway to HIS commitment of 40 units that must be made to Lionel.
So much to our dismay, these custom-runs aren't always a sure-thing when announced. OTOH, I hear Brady's Train Outlet is now sold-out of their Pennsy Vision Triplex. It looked real sweet at York, but I had to control the urge to buy it.
I have enough Black Bonnet themed locomotives. So I'm passing on Pat's Hudson. But I did pre-order Pat's blue Cincinnatian H7 custom-run, which is due to ship from Lionel on 11/6. That should look fabulous heading up Lionel's 18" B&O aluminum passenger train from many years ago. Yikes!!! That's just a week away!!!

Glad I'm out on this engine, information been confusing at best. Which engine getting correct headlight, which are not? What details are we getting over the last run. Etc, etc. With only drawings until this comes out, all I can say is good luck.

Sadly Gary, accuracy has gone out the window for guys like us. Furthermore, we’re not even supposed voice our discontent. Yet, we’re spoon fed BS about how “accurate’ the models are going to be. Like you, my wallet is 100% safe from this mfr.. We are in what seems to be a very slim minority …….I mean, is it too much to ask for some accuracy??..

I have no problem with the fantasy stuff, not my thing but have at it. Last few purchase have been custom runs, been more MTH than Lionel

Let’s try & be civil …..Pat’s trains in Wheeling WV is doing a custom run Hudson in Santa Fe Black Bonnet scheme. He just announced the list is getting ready to close, so if that’s up your alley, reach out to him. If you need a link to his shop, let me know, and I’ll post it on a reply…..
