I like custom runs, although in this case, this paint scheme does not appeal to me. Any other custom runs? I just hope that dealers still continue to offer them. Let’s try & be civil …..Pat’s trains in Wheeling WV is doing a custom run Hudson in Santa Fe Black Bonnet scheme. He just announced the list is getting ready to close, so if that’s up your alley, reach out to him. If you need a link to his shop, let me know, and I’ll post it on a reply….. The Black Bonnet as a west coast railroad, does not appeal to me. My suggestion is for a train dealer to do a fantasy scheme Vision Hudson: Space Force. Hey why not?

...
I have enough Black Bonnet themed locomotives. So I'm passing on Pat's Hudson. But I did pre-order Pat's blue Cincinnatian H7 custom-run, which is due to ship from Lionel on 11/6. That should look fabulous heading up Lionel's 18" B&O aluminum passenger train from many years ago. Yikes!!! That's just a week away!!! Oh no... the Lionel Store just emailed me that the Polar Express blue-plasma Berkshire (available exclusively through Lionel) has arrived and is ready to ship. DOUBLE YIKES!!!!
Thankfully, I planned for these 4Q arrivals... and the Vision Hudson is part of Fiscal Year 2025's budget. And thus far, the NYC Pacemaker model in Lionel's set of catalog'd VisionLine Hudsons is calling my name... barring any other distractions from other as-of-yet-unannounced custom-run offerings.

I’m glad to see that METCA has a custom run Hudson, for me though, I will have to decline since I can not run an 0-72 locomotive, which this version has since it has a centipede tender.

The only nuance I would add to your design is to have the locomotive's trailing truck wheel caps as well as the tender's wheel caps done up in PLATINUM. Have Lionel's artist do that for you... and you can thank me later.

Stu,
If you're crunched for time and would rather not wait on Lionel's artist to send you a revision with the platinum caps (which they'll do anyway if you decide you want to go this route), here's a screen-capture from Mr. Muffin's video when he featured Stockyard Express's custom-run MTH U.S. Army Challenger. This might actually be a better way to decide, since the platinum wheel caps might get lost in the illustration of the waterscoop effect.
That's the best screen-shot I could grab from the video. But I can tell you those platinum wheel caps look FABULOUS in person as well. VERY sharp!!! Buyers (including me) would love it on your Hudson.

To reserve, send an email to DivisionCar@metca.org Stu Very nicely done except for the white stencilled flag, either a silhouette of "Willie" (Patton's beloved bull terrier) or a silhouette of a Sherman tank would greatly improve the graphic package on this engine. Or how about some "ivory" paint detail to parallel his famous ivory handled revolvers, the General, I think, would approve.
