Treating Mr. Muffin badly is like abusing Santa Claus! Steve Nelson is a GREAT GUY! No one should give him a hard time. SO lets review...a large group of friendly people who enjoy a relaxing hobby of "Model Trains", most of them in their 50's, 60's 70's 80's or more. One Rent a Cop Security Guard who is bored and needs to physically and verbally harass patrons. FIRE the Security Company and the Psycho Guard!

Up until a couple of years ago security was not what it is today with armed guards. They were mostly older women and very friendly. When I had a table they did not bother you too much if you were packing up early as long as you were not using a hand cart. We always made sure one of our other friends would put a couple of things on our table to make sure we were in compliance with the rules.
This year Saturday was a ghost town. Most table holders were packing up just after opening.

The York meet already has local police coverage. My question is why does the ED believe that it now needs heavy professional type security at a meet that is mainly attended by middle age and senior people? Do the metal detectors and X-Ray equipment come next?

Do the metal detectors and X-Ray equipment come next? As has been speculated a page or two back, the security may be a requirement of and hired by the Fairground folks with little or no input of the ED. Does anybody have actual knowledge?

That may be correct. The vintage toy show held at the fairgrounds each year on Thanksgiving weekend has a few inconspicuous armed security people as well.

Steve said that it was unfortunate what happened and his video was meant to send a message the Eastern TCA. I am almost sure he will still support York in the future.

Good thing no children witnessed the horrid act. I was far from being a snowflake back when I was 10 years old; when at the time I went to a Carnival in my town. Wanted to buy a ticket for the Bumper Cars and the old man at the ticket booth asked me if it was a "kiddie ride" ($1 dollar)? Not expecting this and being in a hurry I just said yes as my default answer since as far as I was concerned they were all kiddie rides. When I handed the Kiddie Ride ticket to the 40 something, grubby, dirty, leather skinned, sun dried face man, dressed in dirty denim jacket and pants and looked like a combo "hobo/bum/ex con" looking individual running the ride, he asked me who gave me this ticket? When I pointed to the old man at the ticket booth, the bumper car guy yelled for him to come over. He then looked the poor old man in the eyes and yelled as loud as he could in the old mans face "Two dollars for my Bumper Cars"! My friends and I got bug eyed wondering if we had done something wrong and later that day when we were over it made fun of the bumper car guy by doing imitations of him on the way home. Sad thing is I was unnerved from it and never ever went to carnivals ever again as I had complete disdain for them and those who worked them. Hopefully no kids feel the same way after witnessing the Jerk yell at Mr. Muffin.

I guess time will tell if Steve returns. I thought he indicated that York was not profitable considering all the expenses but he goes to see all his friends.

If it's not profitable, he should just come and hang out with his friends...sounds like way more fun than going through all of the angst.

All I can say is Mr Muffjn is facetious, not so much a great guy. This comes from personal experience. Don't be fooled! Adjustment....it wasn't a sale interaction nor fail to deliver the goods scenario...it was a assine comment relpying to me having RealTrax electrical gremlins...which later turned out to be true...as far as electrical conductivity, that track is CRAP!! Ethically speaking types 2 and 3rd generation should NEVER have been sold!

Per Mr. Muffin's Friday night live feed, he will not be coming back to York. He will have two train shows which shadow York dates in April and October. The dust ups notwithstanding, who can blame him? I certainly don't.
Everything in life has a shelf life. For Mr. M the last two dust ups were the last straw, or a timely reason. As I previously stated once I heard about his own train show the writing was on the wall.
The question was not if he would stop coming to York, but how soon.

I hope Steve’s new venture, his own train shows, is successful. He will do everything necessary to make it. Timing is everything though.
