I missed seeing the comments at the end of the video and I didn’t witness what happened, but I wonder if this incident was a continuation or in addition to the dust up Steve had back in April. It happened early on Thursday back in April that had Steve packing up to leave just after the doors opened, but the issue was eventually resolved. I heard some of the issue but not enough to remember the details. I believe it was badge related. Steve did mention that incident and said it was badge related.

I saw the video last night. It was an unfortunate turn of events.

I can tell you that There was a shouting match and I for one was embarrassed to be standing in the vicinity. It was NOT Mr muffin doing the yelling. A customer simply wanted to ask a simple question and the fellow turned and yelled he was a $17000 person and DO NOT CUT IN! That was on Friday. I will give Steve credit because he remained calm and cool and has always tried to promote the hobby. A similar but different situation. While speaking with one of the folks at the MTH booth, a dealer in the Orange Hall was walking by and started addressing the MTH person that I was speaking with as though I wasn't there. While he did not claim he was a $17,000 person he obviously felt entitled enough to determine that whatever I was asking was unimportant compared to his comment about the power going out. When I turned and saw who this dealer was, I was not surprised at his insolence. There was no shouting, but if looks could kill Mr. Muffin would not be the only dealer not coming back to York.

Did Steve delete his video? It says no longer available. A version which edited out his grievance discussion is available on YouTube. I would suppose it would have to have been him doing the editing.

The video has been removed and Steve has reposted with out the comments at the end It's amazing how just 24 hours can alter emotional responses.

The video is better in its revised format, as it's all very much upbeat. People are now AWARE of the unfortunate scenario that Steve experienced, and that served its purpose. But honestly, that segment of the video -- especially in closing -- didn't need to live on in perpetuity.

Yes, the sudden shift not only in the tone of that portion of the video and the apparent switch from color to B&W was quite striking. Mr. Muffin looked exhausted and rightfully so after an 11 hour drive. It reminded me of the email you had to write to clear the air but probably should not have sent upon reflection. But heh, Mr. Muffin has the street creds to roll a hand grenade into a room any time he wants to as far as I am concerned. I agree with rocky mountaineer that upon reflection Mr. Muffin may have thought better of it and edited out the grievance portion. Even if nobody from EDTCA actually saw the video, they certainly heard about it.

Muffin was smart to take it down, it was not a good look.
IMO rants like that are best delivered on the phone, where they can’t be forwarded.

And although this is a business situation of sorts, sometimes as they say you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. If you believe that nobody is listening to your legitimate issues, you have to shout literally or figuratively to get their attention. I for one will not tolerate being ignored. It seems that Mr. Muffin may be of a like mind.

Chuck, I don't think we can assume that the EDTCA heard about or saw the video. The relevant questions remain: - Did a "decision-maker" within the EDTCA actually see the video or receive a report about it?
- Does that "decision-maker" actually give a s*** about the possible consequences of losing a major dealer in the Orange Hall? There's no evidence that the EDTCA is concerned over the dealers and manufacturers that have fled the venue.
- Did MrMuffin alter his video based upon being privately contacted by the EDTCA? Perhaps they were contrite about the situation.
There's really no way to know any of this.

Actually there is. Ask Mr. Muffin on his live cast this Friday at 6:00PM Eastern time. As for EDTCA knowing about this, I have no doubt that they do based upon the multiple forum posts. Whether they choose to address the issue, that is the only aspect of this dust up that is in question IMO. If one is to define a major dealer as the square footage they occupy, Mr. Muffin would certainly not qualify. Compared to Just Trains and Grzyboski, Brady to name but a few, Muffin is close but no cigar. However in terms of the hobby, Mr. Muffin looms large if not largest in terms of an advocate for the advancement of the hobby today. TCA should award him the equivalent of the Ambassador Emeritus for his advocacy of the hobby.

Never saw the original video so I have no idea what happened. A friend said it’s on Facebook so maybe I’ll get him to forward it to me.
