One of the past members of the OGF, Laz57 (George Lazar) passed away. I am sure more information will come to light as the word spreads.

That is a real bummer. Always liked his videos. Any news what happened. I thought he was in good shape and young at heart.

He apparently had a long illness. He had stopped his Whistle Stop Wednesdays videos just a year ago.

I’m very sorry to hear this. He always seemed to be a cheerful guy and his videos were highly entertaining. He made an excellent contribution to the hobby and will be much missed.

Very sad news indeed. It was about a year ago on another forum that he stated he would end his postings of Whistle Stop Wednesday and take a leave of all postings. His videos were always fun to watch in which he would do a complete review of the highlighted loco in the video.

So sorry to read this. I met him once when we bumped into each other in the Orange Hall at York. I was concerned when he posted that he was abruptly stopping his Wednesday videos.
May he have eternal rest and his family can find some comfort.

I emailed him a few times and his wife Pam let me know what was happening. This is truly sad news. He had such a great attitude for the hobby. I'd see him at York and we'd chat. We lost a good one for sure. My condolences to Pam and his family.

Oh my goodness! That is surprise. He was such a nice guy and I know he was a very active person, always out walking the dog and such. Wow. My prayers will be out to him and his family.

I did not know him but from all the comments he must have been a really nice guy. I’m going to make a point of watching some of his videos.
