The highs in the Baltimore area have been between 93 and 98 degrees; with high temps into the evening. It has been good to be indoors, although I have been doing work outside. Alfred
Is it hot where you are? and are you then spending more time operating your layout?

I'm basically staying inside, except to get mail, Water our plants, Get packages from UPS/FedEX & feed the deer. Decided last night to want to replace the battery in the MTH 400E. Well ran into a problem, the motor is held in place by these pieces the turn that look like big arrows, Well they don't want to turn either direction, so I'm going to need to find something I can put up against them and be able to tap lightly with a hammer or something.

It’s 87 today. It’s been in the upper 80s to the low 90s lately. That’s normal for this time of year. Earlier this year it was unusually hot but temps have returned to normal.

We had a string of hot days, upper 90s but felt hotter, last week, but that broke over the weekend thank goodness. I am not a fan of the hot humid weather.

rtraincollector, never tap lightly with a hammer - use it like you really mean it. Alfred

I finally decided to take plate off to see if I could get a better look at what was going on and discovered there where screws there holding it in place, Pre war ones didn't have screws

It was up in the 90s for a short time. Now it's in the low 70s. We turned the air off and opened the windows. It's very comfortable now, if it could only stay like this all year I'd be happy.

Its been in the mid 90's since last Friday, next couple days most likely in the low 90's. Staying in and updating my layout. Can't even sit outside between the temps and the humidity.

It’s been a pretty average summer so far. 108 today. They keep declaring some kind of heat emergency practically every day. It loses all meaning. The average high for today is 107. Issue a warning when it gets up to about 118. That’s when it really sucks.
Based on 8 years of not having air conditioning in my car, 113 is when the heat starts to suck and 118 is really hot. They need to quit crying wolf with nonsense warnings.
I live in Phoenix by the way.

This is unbelievable!! Who would have ever thought that in the summer it would get hot! I had to do some internet research to see if this has ever happened before. Sure enough….
I don’t mind the heat. But when it gets really hot I do a tried and true method. I stay in the air conditioning or go to the beach. It’s just common sense.
Here in the affluent suburbs of San Diego the temperature has finally reached above 80 degrees. I haven’t even turned on the air conditioning yet. Even the pool water is still chilly.
Stay cool, everyone!!

Hit 100 over the weekend (north-central Maryland), which pushed the 21 year-old HVAC into oblivion. Coil froze and dumped water on the basement floor. So we're living 1950s style for now - no first-floor AC until new equipment comes in. Should blot out most of the train budget for some time.
