Lionel set 1465 from 1952: Of all the locos categorized as "Scout" types, I like the 2034 the best. Featuring a traditional open-frame motor and E-unit, it was produced for one year only, the product of material shortages spawned by the Korean War. I added a bell (there was already a hole for one) and green diamonds in the running lights. The 2034 was found in an antiques shop in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; the balance of the set was recovered from various sources. A great toy from Lionel's Golden Age.

My K-Line Golden State passenger set. I don't run it very much. Both A units are powered and the motors are in the trucks.

I have in standard gauge remake by MTH Stephen Girard passenger cars, they are suppose to be just 3 and pulled by a 9E or a 392E, I have heard somewhere Lionel switched to the 392 because of the 9E having a problem pulling them. Well I tried my remake by MTH of the 392E and it had a problem pulling 3, but MTH made a 4 car set an couldn't really pull them, so I put the 4 of them behind my 400E I just got in, and it pulls them with no sweat, extra weight is the trick I guess. By the way this engine is my Fathers day gift.

My first train set, which I still have. Neat! And you even have the box. I still have my first train but it’s not complete and the box is long gone.
