I have the Lionel original 763-E and a couple semi scale versions from K-Line and MTH. I run the 763-E every now & then, usually with some Lionel Prewar tinplate freight cars. Bill

My collection has the 2046 Hudson, the 726/736 Berkshires, and two 5340 90's era scale Hudsons. I run the 5340 Hudsons the most but like them all. Just turn the transformer on and they keep on running. While I enjoy the rail sounds of the later 5340's everything still runs conventional. This may go against the grain for some but never saw a need for anything more.

Hudsons are classic good looking engines. I had a chance to but a 773 upgraded to TMCC for $400. I can kick myself for not buying it now....

Dennis, nothing wrong with running conventional - those post war stteamers are nearly indestructable. Alfred

Is the 2037 a Hudson?

They may be dwarfed by other engines, but the Hudson is my favorite steamer.

The Lionel 2037 is a 2-6-4, Hudsons are 4-6-4. I believe the 2037 is considered a Pacific steamer. Bill
