After about a month of waiting, the cut lumber for my new layout will arrive tomorrow. (In fact, it has been cut and wrapped.) There was some inactivity and confusion surrounding the order – it took quite a few e-mails and phone calls to get the issue resolved. I have everything in place to begin the benchwork on Sunday. It will be a good day to be indoors. Temps have / will be in the mid-90s. Alfred

This evening, actually got a phone delivery message confirming Saturday delivery of cut lumber. If I get it, I may do a Sideshot Saturday of it. Alfred

Thanks Dave. I did get it, and I hauled it up to the second floor. The large panels are in the passageway. Here is a photo of the other cut wood. I know that this is getting old; however, it's been a saga - including the phone camera not cooperating. Hopefully there is something to show in the attached photo (real exciting). Alfred

Agreed...looking forward to more pics. Nothing more beautiful than the blank canvas that is a new train table.

After placing the 5 plywood sheets on the benchwork, and laying down a test loop aroung the perimeter to confirm it would fit (both ends have a full o72 half circle w/ 5" straight section - enough to fit an inner O72 half circle), I ran my Burlington GP-7 with a dome car around the loop. It was good to hear a train on the layout for the first time. Some trimming needs to occur along with securing the seams. Alfred

Don't put an O-72 outside O-72. Go to the next higher track curve for the outside. Varies between brand. O-80, O-81... but you get the point. The curves will look so much better. This is Scaletrax O-72 and O-80.

Ron, thanks for the advice. I have done nothing on the layout for about ten days. I have been busy with a project that will occupy a good deal of time for the next month or so. I may have to wait until the Fall to get serious again about completing the woodworking. Alfred
