Took down the Christmas Village this weekend and cleaned up the storage situation in the process. It was tiring but felt good to do some cleanup.

I’ll second that. This year was especially disappointing as we didn’t host either our family or the neighborhood get-togethers. Felt like all the decorating was for naught (although I enjoyed it, so maybe not a total waste). Took everything down mid-January...once the traditional twelve days is past, I got the itch.

Taking down Xmas is depressing. You do all that work for just a month and then take it down shortly after for most anyway. Takes me a week to setup, at least teardown isn't as long.

Got a jump on 2024's Christmas "garden"...a new putz house for the display. Inspired by the Sears, Roebuck and Company Catalog of Houses of 1926, The Cornell: Standard construction technique and materials...matt board, USPS corrugated, cardstock, basswood, vellum paper, various glues, acrylic craft paint, and glitter, lots of glitter
